Product Description

Pressure Switch Specifications

This part is the replacement pressure switch, also known as the water-level pressure switch, for your washer. It is round and red on one side, and white with gold terminals on the other. The pressure switch senses and controls the water level in the washer. Once the washer has filled up to the appropriate level, it will allow the washer to move forward in the wash cycle. If it is defective, your washer will either not fill with water, or will not stop filling with water. Before you do this repair, be sure to disconnect your water from the power source, as well as the water source. This part is sold individually and is an OEM part from the manufacturer.

Our washer will not fill to high level...what do we need to fix problem..?

Hi Robert, Thank you for the question. I suggest replacing the Pressure Switch. This switch detects the level of the water in the tub and tells the valve to stop filling. Hope this helps!

Hi - my washer won't start/fill when the button is pushed. If I flip the switch to a different cycle, push the button again, flip, push, (many times) I can sometimes get it to start and then it's fine. Maybe the start button? I don't see that in the parts list though. I checked hoses and screens - they appear fine.

The water is not filling up all the way i think do you know how high the water level is for a super load.I hate the auto fill can you help

Hi Stephen, Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately we do not have that information about your appliance listed, for more specialized assistance or to speak with someone about this, I would suggest calling the manufacturer of the appliance directly. However the best parts to usually check when you are having fill issues are your water inlet valve, the pressure switch, and the hose for the pressure switch as well. With the hose you just have to look for any holes or breaks. Hope this helps!

Hi Frank, Thank you for your question. Here is a link to one of our YouTube videos that you may reference on how to install the water level pressure switch, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_3WfRff41E. The washer in the video may appear different from yours, but it will give you a general idea on how to install the part. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!

My washer will fill and wash, drain and spin, but only fill about an inch on rinse then immediately drains and spins a couple minutes then starts to fill again then drains and spins, does this on all rinse cycles on machine

Hello Mike, Thank you for contacting us. The new washers use significantly less water than the older versions so most likely the water level is correct.. The water level should completely saturate the clothing but it will not fill up to the top or even half way full. If you think that it's still too low then below is a link to the pressure switch inside the control panel that controls the water level and it would need to be replaced. I hope this helps.

When i select "hot" for the water temperature, the water starts to fill in the washer and then shuts off after 30 seconds. Then it starts filling the washer with cold water. I tried turning the cold water off from the intake valve. It stops the cold water, but it still will not fill with hot water.

Hello Pau, thank you for your question. There are a few parts to test to determine what the issue is with this appliance. We would recommend testing the water valve itself, the temperature sensor, and the control board. I hope this helps!

I was not getting enough water into the machine if I put it on a large super load. I did buy the pressure switch and it has not changed. It only fills small level loads.

Hi Joyce, Thank you for your question. If the washer is not filling the washer completely and you have already replaced the pressure switch, you will need to check the lid switch and the water inlet valve. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My machine wont start or fill. Tried different settings and still unable to get it to start. I have checked for power and i have power from the outlet but not even a light at the machine. Do you think it could be my "main board" that has gone out?
For model number GTWN4250D2WS
PartSelect logo
Hello Keith, Thank you for your inquiry. You can test the control board with a multimeter to see if it has continuity. If it does, I would check the power cord, the lid switch, the pressure switch and the water inlet valve. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, there are YouTube videos available to assist you. Hope this helps!

Is there a way to test my pressure switch or do I have to buy parts and hope that they are bad.
For model number GTWN4250D1WS
PartSelect logo
Hello Steve, Thank you for the question. To test the switch for continuity, use a multimeter, set at OHMS x 1. Touch the meter probes to terminals 1 and 2. It should be infinity (infinity, which means no continuity) or some value close to 0.0 continuity. We hope this helps.
