My auger motor does not seem to be working. Ice bin has ice and i made sure there were no blockages in the chute. It appears this part number is for the ice dispenser motor. Would we be able to replace this part ourselves if we order? Do you have any helpful hints i could try to make sure it is the auger motor that is not working. Thanks. Thanks

Hello Beth, thank you for your question. You should be able to complete the repair yourself. Here is some information we found online. You'll need a screwdriver with one of those small square heads and a small socket wrench. Remove ice bin. Unscrew 2 screws on casing surrounding the ice box in order to lift it up and out. Remove 4 screws from plastic piece beneath the ice box that the coupling is mounted to and is part of the ice chute. No need to remove coupling as you can lift this piece out (carefully) with it in tact. If you haven't already, unplug the fridge or turn off the breaker. [I didn't do this sooner because I wasn't sure how long the process would take and didn't want anything to spoil while I kept the fridge door open] The spring & rod with rubber washer can be removed and set aside. Unscrew 4 screws surrounding motor. Gently pull up motor (as it's attached to wires from below) and detach wires (it's like a thumb drive attaches to a computer). Then, simply re-attach the new motor and re-assemble in reverse order. I hope this helps!

Hi Johnny,
Thank you for your question. If your ice maker is not dispensing ice, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the seal, the coupling, the water filter, the ice maker and the chute. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!

Hi. I go to click the ice maker button but the ice does not comes out. It's making a noise like the motor has seized. Nothing is frozen when I go to take the ice maker out and the silver motor gear moves but when I put the ice maker back in and close the door to dispense ice out, the motor doesn't move and sounds like it's stuck or seized.
What part do I need to purchase to fix this issue? The auger motor maybe?
Thanks,
Jonathan

Hello Jonathan, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, the issue seems to be with the auger motor. To fix the issue, we would recommend replacing the ice maker module kit, part number PS733947. It contains the auger motor and controls the water fill and harvest functions of the ice maker. We hope this sorts out your problem!

Our icemaker was clumping, then it would make one round of ice and that was it, now it make no ice. If i put ice in the maker the flap will come open but the ice will not be pushed out. I have an appointment scheduled for the 30th, but would like to fix it ourselves if we know what part(s) to replace.

Hi Melissa,
Thank you for your question. If ice is clumping in the bin, then warm air is getting inside either from the door being open too long or from the door gasket not sealing correctly. Check the door gasket to see if there are any gaps. If there are, you will need to replace the door gasket. This warm air slightly melts the ice cubes and when the door is shut and the refrigerator starts to cool down, the ice cubes will freeze together and form one block of ice. When this happens the auger cannot push the ice out of the bin. To resolve this issue, you will need to either remove the bin from the refrigerator and dump the ice out or defrost the refrigerator. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.
