The refrigerator display said I need to replace the filter.
When the filter arrived, I removed it from the package. Upon reading the instructions, I removed the old filter. When I removed the old filter I NOTICED HOW IT CAME OUT SO THAT I COULD HOLD THE NEW FILTER IN THE SAME POSITION AND REPLACED IT WITH THE NEW IN THE SAME POSITION. When I closed the cover door, I went to the display panel and reset water filter display.

Replacing the water filter.
Lift up on the water filter door to open. Pull out the old filter while noticing the arrow pointing up on the filter. Pull off the green caps on the new filter and pop the new filter in with the arrow pointing up as on the old filter. Push in until the filter snaps into place. Close the filter door. Push reset on the water filter button on the freezer door to reset. Very easy!

opened the door removed the old and put in the new
Found the filter door in toe kick under freezer door. Opening the door ejected the old filter. Direction indicator arrows were found on inside of filter door, rotation of filter to match arrows important. Pushed new filter in to stop, closing door completed insertion of new filter.

Reset rater filter
Hold both water filter reset touch sensors down together. This will reset the water sensor indicator.

Your water filter w10295370a , what all does this filter out of the water that passes through it ?

I have this Whirlpool and can not find where water filter is.

Thank you for your inquiry. For your model, the filter is hidden behind a small panel on the left hand side of your kickplate at the bottom of your refrigerator. You should be able to just open that panel and replace your filter. Good luck with your repair.

How do I repair the spring loaded door where the water filter goes. The spring came off and it is supposed to pull out the water filter when you open the little door with the spring.

Thank you for the question. The only way to repair the filter door would be to replace the filter housing. Unfortunately they do not sell the door parts separately.

To replace the water filter, the small door on the left side of the kick plate should open. Does it open from the right or the left? It is hard to open and I'm afraid to force it as a previous question said they broke it off and it can't be easily fixed.
