I need to replace the air damper (diffuser) inside the upper rear left corner of the listed Maytag side by side counter depth refrigerator. I have the replacement part, but am not sure how to remove the cover in order to get to the part. There are no visible screws in the cover, and i don't want to crack the plastic trying to pry it away from the inside of the liner. Help would be appreciated.

The fridge is not working properly. I can pull the damper out on the fridge side then it works. I put the damper back in and sometimes it works.

Hello Chris, thank you for your question. It sounds like the damper motor has failed in your appliance. If you are able to move the damper around and get cool air into the fridge you should replace the following part: DIFFUSER W11164593. Good luck with your repair!

I've had the defuser (damper?) replaced about a year ago and it sounds like it needs to be replaced again -- disappointing. It seemed to me that the installation was pretty simple, so i think i can do it myself this time. However, i don't know the part number to order. Please help. Thank you

The damper control assy. Is making a loud grinding sound during actuation about twice per hour. Has it failed already and does it need to be replaced asap. Refrigerator still seems to be working properly.
