Dryer drum would not stop spinning when door was opened
This dryer is a stackable washer/dryer. I removed all the buttons on the front panel along with the panel. I then was able to lift the front of the door and reach in to the door switch and plug. I unscrewed the old part, installed the new one. I then put the front panel and face plate back into position and screwed them back to the dryer casing. Lastly I put the knobs back on. I was extremely impressed at how easy it was to order and how quick the part came to my house. I am very satisfied with the service and the price and will use this site again in the future.

Door switch tab had broken off. Timer post receiver had sheared off at base.
This recounts replacement of both timer and door switch. Disconnect electrical service to unit before commencing repair(unplug unit)
Read through before beginning repair.
After removing the knob, access the timer by prying out at each end of the control panel cover with a slotted screwdriver. (Each end having two tabs). Set cover and start button it retains aside.
My timer had sheared at the face of the knob-post reciever.
Remove the two screws attaching the timer and free the slot prong terminals from back of timer being replaced. Return terminals into correct orientation on new timer.

Door Switch Replacement.
Note that door panel both retains and supports dryer tub. Open dryer door. Remove door panel bolts found at the underside of bottom corners. Gently tilt out door panel at bottom and disconnect at locking connectors. This frees the felt door panel tub-guide from the plastic tub edge faring clip-thingy. In doing so, expect the dryer tub to sag slighly.
I found it a perfect time to inspect the felt guide at the rear of the tub. With the tub tilting down, the top was open enough to comfortably remove the debris using a non sharp bladed instrument and have it fall into the tub. Use caution so as not to damage, snag or misshapen rub guide.
Slowly rotate drum to inpect the entire circumference of guide. Also rotate dryer drum drive wheels to inspect for accumulated debris as well.Vaccuum debris and lint from drum and dryer housing. Once the new switch is installed in door
panel, reattach locking connectors and return wiring retainer to placement on door panel. Assure their clearance of drum rotation. Replace door panel top tabs into rests, angling panel outward at bottom, then carefully align dryer tub through open door by pressing tub at upper rear toward rear of machine and seating door panel felt rub-guide to drum faring clip-thingy. Holding panel in place, replace door panel bolts. Snug-check screws and bolts as you reassemble. Replace angled cover panel. Replace start button and cover panel and timer knob. I had noticed increased oscillation in drying cycle, and so had little surprise so much debris had come from dryer tub rear felt guide. It may not have cured the oscillation. but I was unsure about the debris effect due to possible drag on the motor. I may have forgotten some bolts removal, just be sure you don't have any left over when you're done w reassembly.

Do you have a video for the replacement of the door switch?
For model number LTE5243DQ3

Hi Tomas, Thank you for your inquiry. Make sure before you start any repair that you unplug the washer. If your your dryer has a lint screen at the door you will remove the plastic end caps at the end of the control panel and remove the screws underneath and then tilt the control panel backwards. Remove the screws securing the main top and then slide the top off. You are no ready to replace the door switch. Detach the door switch wire connector and remove the 2 mounting screws at the door opening and pull out the old switch. Install the new door switch by inserting into the front panel and securing it with the mounting screws and reattach the wire connector. Slide the main top back on and secure it with the screws. Then rotate the control panel down and lock it into place. Then replace the screws and end caps. If this does not help there is a video from our website that you may reference. Here is the link to the video, http://www.partselect.com/PS11741701-Whirlpool-WP3406107-Door-Switch-3-Wire.htm?SourceCode=15. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Hi Sarah, Thank you for your inquiry. Where the dryer is not shutting off there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the door switch, the timer and the cycling thermostat. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
