After truning off the power, I removed the inside door panel by unscrewing the 11 screws. Next unplugged the latch assembly from the two electrical connections. Connected the two electrical connection to the new part and reinstalled the inside door panel. The only difficulty was that the first part I ordered did not have a handle as part of the assembly.

Bottom rack was hitting door when opened

I installed additional wheels that had broken off. This was on my elderly mother's dishwasher in Iowa. I was visiting from California for a week when I discovered it was broken. I worried about getting the parts because I was not familiar with the area. PartSelect saved me by getting the parts delivered before I flew back to California . It was really great. Thanks,

Before starting the job, I looked at the information provided from others who had the same problem and had successfully installed the new part. The information provided was the reason I chose your company to purchase the part. THANK YOU!
1. Turned off power
2. Removed screws holding inside of door.
3. Disconnected and removed old part.
4. Removed dishwasher door handle and attached to new part.
5. Connected new part and positioned it in the handle insert. (Be sure the small bars holding it together are firmly in place.)
6. Reattached the door.
Here is the problem: I did not realize I also needed a new door handle as I assumed it would be attached to the new door latch assembly. My door handle is cracked and some of the plastic has broken away. I will now have to order the new handle and pay the cost of shipping that would have certainly been less if I had ordered it in the first place.

Dishwarsher was making loud almost grinding type noise

I followed the video instructions except I had no idea what tools he was using because he talked so fast, but I figured it out myself. I could not get the guard off but I worked around it. Then I took off the discharge piece. The impeller needed to come off and I unscrewed it but the impeller was stuck tight to the diswasher. It did n ot slide off like in the video. I ended up having to break up the impeller with pliers until it fell apart enough to take off. That was the only semi difficult part. I replaced impeller. The new screw I ordered did not fit on my machine??? So I used the old one again. I reassembled all and the dishwasher now works good. Still makes a little noise which could be normal. Nothing like it was making.

Dishwasher started leaking
  • Peter from Natick, MA
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Pliers
Pulled the dishwasher out from the counter. Wiring and supply hose were long enough that I did not need to disconnect them. Suspected a leak in the injector hose but the evidence was circumstantial. That is mineral deposits collected around the area where the house connects to a small plastic box and then into the dishwasher. I replaced t he hose in a few minutes and added a clamp on the box side where no clamp was called for. So far, no leaks.

Broken Wheel PLUS debris in filters
  • Michael from Morgantown, IN
  • Really Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Screw drivers
Removed both racks. Replacing upper rack wheels (did all 4 even though only one broke) took about 2 minutes. CLEANING the dishwasher took awhile. Had to unscrew 6-10 screws to remove 2-3 parts. Did cleanup (broken glass/plastic & 2 toothpicks) then put everything back in reverse order. Put both racks back in and tightened the upper r etaining clips. This might have looked difficult, but if you have ever used an erector set you will find it quite easy. TIP: The breakdown sketches are a great guide to see what you are going to take apart and where it goes.

The dishwasher door was fitted with a plastic striker. It obviously wasn't meant to last, and eventually broke. This meant that the door would not shut properly, so I couldn't use the dishwasher.
  • Judi from Katy, TX
  • Really Easy
  • More than 2 hours
  • Screw drivers
I pulled out the dishwasher a little to expose the screw on the striker, (located on top of the dishwasher. The annoying thing was, it wasn't a regular screw, so unfortunately I had to go out and buy a torx screwdriver (which cost more than the new striker). It would have been so much quicker, and cost effective, if it had been a normal s crew. Anyway, I completed the job and pushed the dishwasher back into place.

Upper Rack Wheel Eroded
  • Brent from Lafayette, CO
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Pliers
Just one of the upper rack wheels in my dishwasher was in really bad shape for some reason, eroded away so it wouldn't stay on the track, causing the rack to jam up as was pulled out or pushed in. Simply popped it off with a little twist by hand, and slide the new one in, with the help of some needle-nose pliers. Easy.

Dishes on bottom rack not clean
  • Kathryn from Apopka, FL
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Pliers
I examined the arm on the floor of the dishwasher and found that it had collided with something sticking through the bottom of the lower rack. One of the jets on the tip of the arm, which was supposed to spray sideways to make the arm spin, was missing its top and now sprayed up. This put the arm off balance and kept it from spinning. I o rdered a new arm from PartSelect. It arrived much sooner than I expected. With the pliers, I unscrewed the nut holding the arm on, replaced it with the new arm, and refastened the nut. The next time I used the dishwasher all the dishes on the bottom rack were clean.
