Hi. My dishwasher hinge or spring seems to be malfunctioning. Tonight when i opened the door, the door flung open to the floor. Not sure what part this is?

My dishwasher hinge is malfunctioning. When I open the door there is no counter balance and it opens down to the floor.

Hello James, Thank you for the question. We suggest checking the Connector Assembly. This dishwasher door hinge cable assembly connects the door to the spring. The door hinge cable and the door spring apply tension to the door to prevent it from dropping open too quickly. We hope this helps!
