washer is unbalanced during a spin cycle
I watched a video on you tube before making the repair, there was only one bad rod support, location right rear, I recommend watching a video on you tube first, it is very simple to change, however the replacement of the part was not the solution to the unbalanced load during the spin cycle, so I guess I have some research to do.

Suspension rods were worn; washer is 10+ years old
Replaced the suspension rods, suspension rod supports, main drive belt, tub centering springs, water supply hoes, and washer drain hose. Taped new front suspension rods to side of tub to ensure that they did not slide down when raising the washer off its back from the floor. Had a helper lift the tub, which made attaching the new suspension rods easy. The tub is extremely heavy so by a helper lifting it up it made attaching the new suspension rods much easier. IMPORTANT: According to the technician's manual, which was taped to the inside of the washer, it is absolutely necessary to recalibrate the washer after replacing any suspension parts. We did this by following the instructions in the tech manual. Failure to recalibrate a washer could result in poor performance. The procedure is different for each brand or model of washer, but again is absolutely essential after replacing suspension parts of any kind. For some unknown reason, our washer did not have the tub centering springs. Our model should have had the springs.Facing the washer, we attached one to the front left tub housing and one to right rear of the tub housing. Recommend that anyone watch the installation videos for the suspension rods, center springs, and main drive belt before attempting the repairs.

Spin cycle was way out of wack, like it was over loaded to 1 side
1st watched the video, turned off the water supply, unplugged the elecrtcal cord, removed the rear top panel , screws with the nut driver , then slid the top forward about 1 inch & then lifted upwards to removed the lid assy, after taping the lid assy down so it wouldn't flip open. Then once lifted up, at the very back are 2 slots, which you can the set the top onto, then use the 2 s-hooks with a chain to support the lid assy from falling backwards and attach to the base assy.
Then you can move the tub assy away from where you need to work.in this case was replacing the upper plastic suspension rod supports, then push upwards the socket , drop in the new one, pull of on the rod assy, and hook it into the ball and drop bach into the suppprt , was able to do all 4 in no time. Then unkook and reattach all, screws, plug back in, turn on the water. And we were good to go.
All For less than $20.

Where can I find installation instructions and/or a video to install the suspension rod support?
For model number MVWC400XW0
Hello Sheldon,
Thanks for your question. You will need tape, pliers, and a 1/4" nutdriver. It is a good idea to have a towel handy for any water leaks. Unplug the washer and turn off the hot/cold water. Remove the drain hose and be careful of excess water. Loosen the hoses from the back of the washer, then remove
the access panel on the back. Remove the top panel. Tape down the lid so it does not open unexpectedly. Pull the top panel towards you - lift up and push back to unlock it. There
are two metal tabs that need to slide into the top panel slots. Tip the top back and lay it
back against a wall, being careful not to damage the wire harness. Lift the suspension rod
and release it from the ball. Push from underneath to release the ball and bushing. Lift the
suspension rod through the opening and attach it to the ball. Close the lid and reverse the
process to put your washer back together.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for your quick response/ i remove top and see where the right side top of the tub (facing machine) is damaged from hitting the cabinet. The rods and suspension seems ok could the problem be something else. The machine makes a loud noise and shaking violently and moving. Thanks
For model number MVWC400XW0
Hi Sheldon,
Thank you for your question. Usually that is caused by either your suspension rods. It sounds like perhaps the springs are too loose, which happens over time. When you have one of the rods off of the appliance, it should be difficult to stretch the spring. You could also check the balancing ring on the top of your tub. Those are really the only two parts that help your appliance to stay balanced. Good luck with your repair.

How do i know if this part is bad on my washer
For model number Mvwc555dwo
Hello Anthony, thank you for your question. These are just the plastic supports, so if they are cracked or broken they will have to be replaced. If you unit won't stay balanced, moving or vibrating, and making noise, the suspension rods may need to be replaced. Check the springs to see if they are broken, or the rods to see if they are bent. You will also want to check the ends where they connect to the unit. I hope this helps!

The washer 4 years old, was purchased used, and not inspected for proper operation before purchase. During the spin cycle the tub bounces against the outer cover so badly that the entire washer leaves the floor and bangs into the surrounding walls. I've never seen a washing machine do this and have read your trouble shooting blogs so i removed the top cover to check for broken springs. All 4 springs are intact and no plastic part appear to be broken. One of your blogs mentions a top balance ring which i don't seem to see on the basket. Another blog mentions a balance a bad clutch and replacing some kind of a balance pad. I don't find the pad in the manual but would like to know what you recommend i start with. I put the washer through the test cycle and it appears to be working fine except for the terrible unbalance of the basket during the spin & rinse cycle. Please help!

Hello and thank you for writing.
You should check the suspension rod supports PS3502189 as often they might have cracked and need to be replaced. After that make sure the belt PS11747978 is in good condition and not loose in any way.
After that, you would have to consider the suspension rods themselves (kit of 4) PS12347546. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

My washer does not stay balanced and it shakes so bad it suspension rods come unhooked and also makes a noise like gears are stripping or something when it first starts to agitate for a couple seconds then it stops making that noise and starts to agitate what is making the washer do this
For model number NTW4650YQ0
Hello Kim, thank you for your question. The issue is probably with the clutch, or gear case. I would suggest checking the Clutch Assembly Part Number: PS10057144 as well as the GEARCASE Part Number: PS11773167 to see if you can notice any wear and tear. The gear case might show some oil leaking out of it. Of these two parts, the clutch assembly is the most likely of the two to have gone bad. I hope this helps!

Grinding noise on spin cycle for model wtw8800yc1 already replaced the hub.
For model number WTW8800YC1
Hello Stephen, Thank you for the question. Normally this is an indication the Tub Bearing is worn and will need to be replaced. The Bearing was only sold as part of the outer tub. I looked up the part and it is listed as No Longer Available/Discontinued sorry. There are no part substitutions listed. Our suggestion here would be to call the manufacturer and see if they can provide you with a substitution for these part numbers. We hope this helps.
