Getting a clicking sound every few minutes when compressor is running lasting for about 10 to 20 seconds could this be my overload switch or compressor going bad Maytag refrigerator about 7or8 years old..... thanks

Hi Roy, Thank you for the question.This sounds like an issue with the Capacitor,PartSelect Number PS11757023. I suggest replacing the Capacitor ASAP. If this burns out then the appliance will not be able to cool and you are at risk of loosing any food inside. Hope this helps!

All I need is a compressor, not the entire kilt. Is this a possibility??

Hello Judith, Thank you for the question. Very sorry but the compressor is only sold as a kit. All the parts int he kit are recommend to be replaced as the same time as the compressor. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

How can I tell if I need a whole new compressor? Or just a part? The refrigerator and freezer have stopped cooling.In diagnostic mode, I entered the compressor / condenser test and the condenser never kicked on.What would you suggest to further troubleshoot?

Hi Mary, Thank you for the question. I first suggest trying to replace the Start Device on the compressor, PartSelect Number PS11750123 or the Capacitor, PartSelect Number PS11757023. These parts work together to start the compressor. Hope this helps!

We did call a service man in to repair the fridge and they we require a compressor and correct a leak. can you please advise what we can do the price that they want to charge is outrageous.Thanks rose

So I have had an issue where my fridge and freezer will not cool properly. Fridge only works sometimes but not to temperature it should. Freezer will stay semi cool but nowhere near enough to freeze anything. I have replaced the capacitor and it didn't help. So what could be my issue?

Hello Roger, Thank you for the question. We suggest checking to see if the Evaporator Fan in the Freezer is operating. This part circulates air over the refrigerator coils. These coils will convert the heat into cool air, which is then circulated throughout your appliance. We hope this helps!
Freezer and refrigerator stopped cooling together. I replaced the capacitor, with the same result. The compressor never did come on. Any recommendations? I noticed several of the tubes with Green spots so not sure if it's leaking refrigerant but I'm going to replace the compressor starter relay next.
