My krmf706ess01 fridge has defrosting issues that causes ice buildup in the back which leads the freezer not to cool to the set temperature. The refrigerator part reaches close to the set 37 degrees. The freezer reaches only 17 degrees though set to -1.Someone looked at it (without doing any test) and suggested to change the evaporator motor and control board. then he quoted for a wrong part (for the board ) wpw10624574 instead of wpw10675033. my question is what is the best way to test and confirm if the control board is actually faulty. same for the evaporator motor. your help is really appreciated. thanks

Hi Garry, Thank you for your question. If the refrigerator and freezer section is too warm, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the thermistor, the evaporator fan motor, the electronic control board, the defrost timer, the defrost thermostat, the defrost heater and the condenser fan motor. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My Kitchen aid refrigerator is not defrosting in the freezer and ice build up in side causing fan to make a loud noise. I'm told it probable is the main control board is that correct.

Hello John, Thank you for the question. before replacing the board we suggest testing the Defrost Heater. You should get an approximate reading of 10 to 150 ohms. We hope this helps!

My freezer once again stopped working. This happened several months ago and I found a blown fuse for the defrost heater. I replaced the evaporator fan and harness and that seemed to fix the problem for 4 months. Now I have to defrost the unit every two weeks. Also the unit has been powering off on its own requiring a power cycle to restart it. This is the second refrigerator in 5 years and I am beyond frustrated with Kitchen Aid. It seems like a common issue with this unit and they offer no assistance (rant over). Could the main control board be causing this issue? I am defrosting this once again and will check the fuses along with the heating element itself. The last time I checked it read 30 ohms.

How can i test control board wpw10675033 to know if it is working
For model number KMRF706EBS00

Hi Rick, thank you for your question. Regrettably only a trained technician can test an electronic control board to verify if it is malfunctioning or not. You would either need to find one in your area or contact your manufacturer to see if they would be able to send one to your home to do the tests. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My refrigerator has a defrosting issue where ice is building up on the coil causing the freezer to not get cold enough. The evaporator fan motor is working, i replaced the thermistor, i do not see a defrost timer or thermostat ( i assume those are built into one of the control boards). So i believe i am down to replacing one of the control boards, are there any recommendations on which one controls the defrost cycle or if there is anything else i should try before i replace a board?

Hello Beau and thanks for writing. There are several control boards on your unit. The first to test would be the one nearest the compressor PS12070625. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime.
