part was as ordered
I was very unhappy that I had to pay $80 some dollars when I only needed a $5 dollar wheel which was what the original dishwasher provided. Why build a replacement part that requires me to buy the whole unit. I believe this is a intentional manufacturing design to boost parts sales.

One of two plastic rollers on this metal part broke (twice)
Remove the entire top dish rack by removing the two front covers on the left and right metal grooved slides. The covers are plastic. No tools are required. After removing the top dish rack, the rack adjuster (with two cheap plastic wheels) is easily removed with an allen wrench. There are six fasteners that must be removed to detach the rack adjuster from the rack.
If only 1 of the 2 cheap plastic wheels on this assembly is broken, do not throw away the old assembly. The functional plastic wheel can be removed and saved for the next time one breaks!!! This cheap plastic wheel cannot be purchased separately from the entire rack adjuster assembly.

Supports for middle rack of dishwasher broke
The middle (plates and silverware) rack of my maytag dishwasher broke. The supports for the wheels were plastic hubs that bore the weight of the rack.
About a year after owning the dishwasher, the front two plastic wheel hubs that support the rack broke.
I ordered the left and right Rack Adjuster Assembly which included the main T shaped support rail including the two wheels. The good news is that these hubs are METAL which should not break like the weak plastic hubs of the previous version.
I removed about 4-5 screws from the original assembly, and installed the new rack adjuster assembly and replaced the screws. About 20 minutes total for both sides.
I also replaced the tracks since mine were somewhat bent after the original supports broke.
Very nice to have a fully operational / sturdy middle rack again on this dishwasher.
This is a very common problem with this model. However, in addition to this part, you also need the following part numbers (which are not listed for this model): PS920544 - Lever Adjuster PS893981 - Cover, Rack Adjuster
The updated RACK ADJUSTER ASSY part did not match up to the other parts in my dishwasher. But, after I found a diagram for another dishwasher model that showed the above two parts as well, I ordered them in hopes that they would work for mine. They worked like a charm, and the design of the new updated part is much better than the original part (which, if you take a look at epinions.com, breaks on just about every machine).
I hope this helps someone out ... I was close to ditching our 1.5 year old dishwasher and buying a new one!

broken wheel on the top pull out rack
First I placed a cutting board under the rack to hold it in place while I took the five screws out of the bracket holding the T shaped bracket in place. I then just switched out the old for the new and guided the bracket into the side mounting piece and placed the end cap back on. Double checked the tightness of the screws and it was done.

Plastic door latch broken
1)Turn off breaker to dishwasher. 2)Remove screws that fasten plastic liner to outer door with allen wrench. 3)Disconnect two wiring connections to latch assembly; this was toughest part of project, had to use pliers to get metal connectors our of sockets. 4)Connected new assembly and screwed door back together.
Had to purchase complete rack adjuster for forty dollars instead of roller assembly or, even better, an axle for five dollars because Maytag wants to gouge us. Anyway, removed rack from washer, removed screws holding plastic cover on adjuster, removed adjuster from rack, replaced with new part and re-assembled. Be sure the spring steel part is in cover. FYI part was correct and shipped quickly. Thanks.

Top shelf roller broke
if you have a screw driver with the Star end it is a matter of minutes to do the repair. Simply undo the roller guide keepers at the end of the rails and remove the top shelf. Once this is done place the shelf on it's side and remove the 6 screws holding the roller assembly and reinstall the new assembly. Slide rollers into each guide at both sides and reinstall the guide keeper.

brocken top rack
removed plastic clips, slid top rack out, unscrewed the rack adjuster, screwed in the new one... done...
Two things to look for
1) you definitely need a star shaped screw driver 2) pay attention when you take the spring adjuster out, it will be easier to put back in
Quite easy to disassemble the rack arm then replace with new one. I was concerned the part might not fit my dishwasher because it's fairly old and the series numbers were not quite the same, but it fit perfectly. I am very impressed with how quickly I received the part, too.

Can I just get the wheels for my model of dishwasher?
For model number MDBH965AWS
Hello Trina,
Thanks for your question. The upper rack's wheels are only sold with the rack adjusters themselves, rather than being individually sold.
I hope this helps.
The roller wheel connection had worn away and rack falls off the track, do i have to order the entire rack height adjustment piece or is just a new wheel piece. Thanks
For model number MDB6601AWS
Hello Theose, Thank you for your inquiry. The wheels only come as part of the rack adjuster with wheels. Hope this helps!

All I need is a replacement wheel for part #4. Can this wheel be obtained by itself, rather than spending $50 to replace the entire support?
Hello Robert, Thank you for the question. Very sorry but Whirlpool does not sell just the wheel on its own. It is only sold as part of the Rack Adjuster Kit. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

Is this the right side when facing the dishwasher? When facing my dishwasher the broken wheel is the top racks' right side and I want to be sure to get the correct part.
For model number MDB6600AWQ
Hello Liana, Thank you for reaching out. Yes, this would be your right side as you stand in front of the appliance facing it. We hope this helps!
