Dryer will not heat unless I hold the timer knob from advancing. Then you can hear it light and it will burn. Have to keep doing that and listen for clicking to keep getting it to light. It stopped advancing when it hits cool down awhile back. Will only heat on high heat cycle will not light on automatic cycle. Any suggestions?
For model number NGD4600YQ2
Hello Mark,
Thanks for your question. There are a few parts you will want to test before considering replacing the control panel. The dryer cycling thermostat, part number PS11741405, should be tested with a multi-meter for continuity. If it does not test for continuity, replace it. Next, test the thermal fuse (part number PS11741460) for continuity and replace it if needed. Lastly, test the coil kit for continuity, part number PS334310.
I hope this helps.
