Silverware Basket - Split/Fit

the only thing that I wish was that the website had been more descriptive of the item. I ordered the two listed because it didn't say whether it was one side or both sides of a split basket. Now I have two complete baskets in different shades of grey! Only needed to order one maybe this will help someone else with the same problem. Great service and fast delivery though! Will order from this site again if I ever need anything else!

These parts snap in and out by hand, except the flatware basket of course. After getting the new parts I will mention two things: 1) the two halves of the flatware basket are symmetrical; i.e., you can use two of either basket PN as long as you don't care about how the basket is divided (one side has two sections and the other has three); 2) the replacement parts seem to be made of stronger/more flexible plastic (either the material degrades over time from the heat and detergent, or maytag had enough early product life warranty claims on the pastic bits that they improved the material).

The bottom broke out of the original basket just after one year of use. The manual showed a different basket than what came with the dishwasher, so I ordered it instead. I like the split/fit even though it is just a little smaller than the original. The sides lean out instead of straight up and down like the old broken one, so more silverware fits in it. It is handy to take apart and position one at the front and the other at the side of the rack so there is more room for larger pots and pans.

I just pulled out the old baskets and repositioned the new ones from PartSelect.com. No tools were needed!

I should have done this 2 years ago when the door latch had broken. I disconnected the power tot he dish washer then I took my electric drill and used a torx bit to remove all scres holding the front panel. This took about 2 minutes. After that i removed the door latch (poped right out as it was held by the torx screws). I disconnected the switches on the old latch and reconnectted them on the new latch in th esame manner. replaced the screws and was ready to go after reapplying power to the unit.

I did get the Left and the right basket parts - this was unnecessary as now i have two complete baskets. I reading some of the reviews which suggested that you need two parts BUT YOU JUST NEED ONE. BUY JUST ONE AS THEY ARE COMPLETE SETS. Good luck

Replace the defective basket with the new one. But I must comment on the speed of delivery. I placed my order in the late afternoon - I selected standard delivery - and was amazed to find the package sitting at my door step the next afternoon! Fantastic!
