The softener despences but it fills with water and i have to dump it every time what's wrong?
For model number WFW8300SW05
Hello Lisa, thank you for your question. There are a couple of parts that might be cause this issue. I would recommend checking the Dispenser Actuator Switch Part Number: PS11749029. There is a motor with a plastic cam and arm that re-directs the incoming water in different ways. Sometimes the plastic arm can pop off the motor shaft which will leave the re director aimed in the wrong spot all the time. I would check the actuator switch itself, the Water Inlet Valve Part Number: PS11746288 as well as the cam and re-director lever on the unit. To access the dispenser, remove three screws at the back of the unit that holds the top panel on. Slide the panel back and then lift up. I hope this helps!

The fabric softener compartment is not draining during wash cycle.
For model number WFW9050XW03
Hello and thank you for writing.
1. Level the Washing Machine
Make sure that the Washing Machine is leveled. If the washer is not properly leveled, residual of fabric softener can be collected in the washer and clog the dispenser.
2. Clean the clogged dispenser.
Pull and open the washer detergent drawer until it stops.
3. Remove the detergent dispenser by lifting it out and then rinse it with warm water to remove traces of accumulated detergent residue.
4. Clean the washer detergent drawer periodically with a soft cloth to avoid detergent buildup.
If that does not fix your problem then your softener siphon PS11746274 might have been damaged or the dispenser PS11754248 itself needs to be replaced, check the parts for damage and replace it if needed. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.
Can you please tell me how to remove the detergent drawer, its my job to clean it out and its not easy when people use powder detergent. Thank you so much

I ordered the detergent drawer 8540402 but it doesn't fit the handle. What can I do?
For model number WFW9150WW00
Hi Deloris,
Thank you for the question. Checking the model number it looks like Whirlpool has updated both the drawer and the handle so you may need to replace both parts at the same time.
Hope this helps!
I turn on the washer and the water just runs out of the drawer.
For model number WFW9151YW00
Hi Carol,
Thank you for your question. It sounds like you have a a leak in your drawer then. There is no seal around your handle. I would suggest pulling out your entire drawer to check if there are any cracks or breaks. You could also check your housing as well. It sounds like either a hose is loose or something is cracked inside of your drawer. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
