How does this air tower attach/detach to back wall of fridge?
For model number WRF989SDAH02
Hello Kevin, thank you for the question. We have attached some relevant instructions to attach and detach the air tower. This may not be of exact same model, but will help you with the process. You may follow these instructions:
1) Remove the shelves.
2) Lift up on the front of the shelf, then up on the back and out to remove.
3) Repeat the same on the remaining shelves.
4) Now remove the crisper drawers by pulling them out.
5) Remove the two glass shelves.
6) Remove the platter shelf and crisper cover by lifting up and out.
7) Remove the pantry drawer by pulling it.
8) Remove the pantry support by lifting up on the middle.
9) Now open the water filter compartment and remove the screws with a nut driver.
10) Grab the top panel within the water filter opening. Be careful as it is still connected with a wire.
11) Next, disconnect the electrical connector by depressing the locking tab.
12) Locate these six locking tabs on the air tower.
13) Place one hand behind the tower and use a flat blade screwdriver to release the locking tabs while pulling the panel towards yourself.
14) Remove the thermistor cover by firmly pinching the top.
15) Now remove the thermistor from the cover.
16) Remove the screws on the damper cover using a nut driver
17) Remove the foam assembly by tilting the top out first.
You may follow the same instructions to reassemble it. We hope this information helps!
