Is the 30 amp, 250 volt ceramic fuse in my dryer sloblow or fast, and can a quick blow fuse be used if it is supposed to take the sloblow? Thanks. Rudy
For model number GTD42EASJ0WW
PartSelect logo
Hi Rudy, Thank you for your question. Slow blow fuse is referred to as a time delay fuse. A slow blow fuse is different from a fast acting fuse in its capability to withstand transient pulse currents, for example, it can withstand the surge current upon power-on/off, thus ensuring the equipment works normally. Your fuse is not a slow blow fuse it is a fast fuse. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Dryer will not start . I removed small cover where cord attaches and found a mouse fried across fuse . Fuse looks burned and tested only 3amps this is a 30 amp fuse. It is hard to find the part should this fix the problem

Is there a trick to removing 30 amp fuse (we1x21975) from Hotpoint dryer? I don't want to break it, and it is in held in the fuse holder tightly, does not appear to pop out of the holder when i pull on it. Thanks.

Hi Bob, Thank you for your question. There is a video on our website that you can reference on how to install the fuse . The dryer in the video may not show exactly like the one you have, and the fuse is different but it will give you a general idea on how to install the part. You will find the video under part number PS11741460. If this does not help you will need to consult your owner's manual or contact GE. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My dryer doesn’t start. Before it went out I had to put slight pressure on door and press start to get it going. The door switch seems to work as the light comes on open and off when door closed. I tried new start switch that wasn’t it. The belt is good. I assume it is sensor issue, fuse, or thermostat. Do you have list in order what to check next?
For model number GTD42EASJ2WW
PartSelect logo
Hello Jake , Thank you for the question. If you could push on the door and have it start it would not be an issue with a thermostat or fuse. I suggest checking the Door Switch, PartSelect Number PS11729233. Also make sure the door is closing normally and it is level. Hope this helps!

I had just finished drying a load of clothes and after adding another load i set the temmperature and pressed the start button. All i got was a click whenever i pushed the start button. I was wondering shouls i change the fuse 3ab (part # we1x21975) since it is the most accessible.
For model number GTD65GBSJ0WS

Hello Markis, thank you for inquiring. This is most likely due to a faulty Door Switch, part number PS11729233 for your model. You may also want to consider the Drive Belt, part number PS1766009 as the cause. Good luck with your repair!

I replaced the fuse part #we1x21975 which was grey in color with a 30amp clear glass fuse and after a few drying cycles it blows ? Do i need to find a grey colored fuse ? Is there a difference ? Or what else do you suggest .
For model number Gtd65ebsj2ws

Hello and thank you for writing. Yes, there is a difference. Slow blow fuse is referred to as a time-delay fuse. A slow blow fuse is different from a fast-acting fuse in its capability to withstand transient pulse currents, for example, it can withstand the surge current upon power-on/off, thus ensuring the equipment works normally. Chances are the fuse you used is not a slow blow fuse it is a fast fuse. The fuse part number PS10065161 is in the list of compatible parts for your model. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

My dryer doesn't want to start when I push start button. I checked door lock, all thermistors, thermal fuse, bimetal thermostat, blow thermostat, belt switch and everything looks good. All elements passed the om/continuity tests. I tried to find 30a fuse to check it, but there is not located in to the power cord connector box. I saw it on the diagram for this model# of dryer, but nothing there. Anyway motor of the dryer doesn't want to start, no heat. Just the user interface panel works.
For model number GTD72EBSN0WS
PartSelect logo
Hello Vasili, Thank you for the question. The Fuse is part of the Terminal Block for the power cord. You will need to disassemble the Block. However, if the fuse was blown the appliance would not power on at all. We suggest testing the Motor its self for continuity. If the Motor is good, you may have a defective Main Control Board. We hope this helps!

Dryer got very hot and stopped. Clothes may have been heavy. Checked start cleaned out vent, light is on in dryer. We are pretty sure it's the thermal fuss. There are 2 on the right side behind drum and the other one on the left. We could disconnect the on on the left but are having trouble removing the second on the right, any suggestions?
