Mica cover protecting waveguide was sparking
The part had to be rotated to fit then screw was replaced. Only tricky thing was that the screw was the security allen type with a small post in the center. Luckily I had a set of them from installing similar bolts on license plates.

All power to the microwave went out.
PartSelect had helpful repair instructions on-line which made the repair easier and faster. Unfortunately, there were other problems with the oven that immediately blew the new fuse I had just installed. It was then determined that additional repair would most likely cost almost as much as a new microwave.

Lamp Burned Out in GE Microwave
This is a GE Profile Microwave/Convection Oven that has the Built-In Kit. The microwave is really a countertop oven that can be placed in a cabinet for a built-in look. The removal of the shroud was easy but it takes two people to remove the oven from a high cabinet location. Once you get the spacer pieces off with a regular Phillips, you will need a Security Torx set to remove the screws around the rear of the cabinet. Once the cover is removed the bulb is easy to locate mounted upside down behind the control panel. One screw holds the bulb in place, so remove it, replace the bulb and reverse the assembly procedure. It takes about 30 minutes but will save you between $75 and $150 for a service call. YOU WILL NEED A SECURITY TORX SET that can be purchased at your favorite tool shed.

Microwave portion did not work, Halogen lights and fans did.
The primary door latch switch contacts were not closing properly. I broke the latch bracket while removing the switch. It is only a plastic clip that holds the switch in place. I replaced the switch and bracket. The Advantium now works in all modes.

Bottom door latch was broken. Microwave was dead.
Read instructions and viewed video. Project would have been very difficult without the instructions and video. Step 1 removed vent grill at top to microwave, by removing two scres. Step 2 removed microwave door by lifting. Step 3 used a one inch plaster knife to separate the plastic interior cover of the door. The video was most helpful. Use the thin blade of the plaster knife to locate snap locations of the plastic cover. Step 4 removed broken latch by applying slight pressure to the outside. Observed the attachment of the 'spring'. Step 5 installed new latch and spring. Step 6 reinstalled interior plastic cover. Step 7 install door. Step 8 install vent cover with two screws. Step 9 test unit.

microwave just stopped working
First unplugged the microwave, took top grill off, took control panel off, took wires off and used color coded tape to make sure they went back in right places, took fuse out and replaced it and put every thing back and it all worked fine and to top it off my wife did it all. So it was pretty easy.
