Agitator not working: clothes not clean
3 of 3 people found this instruction helpful.
  • LeJeanne from BATON ROUGE, LA
  • Really Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
It was really easy after watching the videio. I removed a single screw and took the agitator out, You could see how worn the center of the part was. The part that it went onto had a lot of rust built up on it, I used naval jelly and a wire brush to clean it. then put the new agitator on. It has been working well ever since. What's c razy is two repair men told me to
throw out the washer because the repair would be equivalent to buying a new one! NOT TRUE ---- Total cost $115.00. Received it really quickly. Thanks so much!

Center Dispenser Wear
2 of 2 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Connie from CHASKA, MN
  • Very Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
Used some essential oils in laundry to help with odor. (Doesn't work, don't bother. Just get better soap.) Oils caused damage to center dispenser tray. Bought replacement tray. Simply pull the old one out by pushing down on the tabs on each end, slide the new one in place. Maybe took 30 seconds. Price? Far too expensive for a plastic draw er, but what do you do?

Ordered the parts and followed You Tube DYI clip. This 3YOMaytag top loading washer has had a motherboard replaced and now this. It all works fine for now, I cannot imagine what the appliance tech would have charged. Maytag is not what it used to be.
