MFI2269DRM00 Maytag Refrigerator - Instructions

We snapped the new one on correctly this time.

I first removed the bottom shelf. Then I popped the rail in. It was pretty easy although I did have to use some force to fit it in. Ordering the part and doing it myself was a lot cheaper than calling the repair man.

Removed the door and replaced the broken door closure bushing. I had courteous help and responce from Parts Select people. Excelent turn around time on parts delivery.

Very easy-slightly bend the end piece to fit over the peg.

The old cover was off and I just slid the replacement part that I got from you'll, it just slid in place and snapped close. Perfect fit. Thanks guys

Replacing the part itself was easy, but getting the spring in position before installing the Yoke/Pad was a bit difficult. I had to insert the spring on the Yoke/Pad tab, then retract the spring (which was difficult) prior to putting the Yoke/Pad into place on the dispenser assembly. This requires force and would be very easy to bend or break the Yoke/Pad tab. I'm not sure if there is some trick to retract the spring and keep it retracted during the Yoke/Pad installation.

Take everything off the top self, lift the self install the new part ,put self back in place and then install the drawers again. Took minutes.

Let the ice in the freezer melt while installing P trap drain tube

Total time 10 minutes. 9 minutes to clear out the food and 1 minute to install the part. Installation was self evident and could have been done blindfolded. Part just snapped in.

Pieces fit neatly into place; trim snapped firmly under railing and the interior fridge looks like new in time for Thanksgiving, when lots of people will be looking in it!

you tube video was most helpful. after getting new part and disassembling old ice maker, you have to change out the wiring harness. Reinstall ice maker, don't worry about the timing of the unit as it will do this itself, may take 10 hours to produce ice, mine took about 2 hours to go through its' cycles and give me ice. It is running great

watched diagnosis and repair videos online, assessed problem, order part and replaced ice maker. was not expecting to replace wiring harness but got it done and icemaker is working just fine.

Layer it out for 24 hrs used hairdryer on med for the wrenkles.

Removed old ice maker by removing 3 screws, unplugged wiring harness. Replaced with new ice maker, placed three screws back to secure the ice maker, plugged wire harness back, and product is working well at this time.

Took out the old and installed the new.. The fit was perfect.
