MAH4000AWW Maytag Washer - Instructions

The motor isolators went in with no problem ,but the drive belt went on very tight , your how to video shows how. Easy the belt went on , when I called your store I was told that is the only size belt for the machine model mah5500bww,

removed phillips headed screws from sides (hinge on one side) and bottome of door, placed door flat on counter top. Brought door back over to machine and attached hinges to door.

We followed the directions in other people's repair stories here. Removing the spring was a challenge, as was getting it back on! The rest of the repair was simple. We're going to try that new Affresh product in the hopes of avoiding this repair again in the future. We never washed anything harmful in the washer. This seal becomes moldy and deteriorates with time. Using bleach to kill the mold only speeds the process.

I followed the steps on the first post which are very good. I had trouble, however, putting the seal over the drum. I finally removed the plastic rim to the drum by removing the clips. I was then able to lay the rim on the floor and put the new seal over it more easily. It is a lot like putting a bicycle tire on a rim. I had no helper ... Read more s so I used a vice grip pliers on one end of the cable-spring and another pliers on the other. I was then able to pull both ends together enough to get them to hook up. I recommend removing the plastic rim as I mention above. Had I done this first, I would have done the job in less than 30 minutes.

Repair went just as video on this website indicated. Reinstalling the cable clamp was the hardest part.

Working from back of machine, slip old belt off drum pulley. Loosen 1/2" nut to remove drive motor from outer drum assembly. Work motor toward front of machine, while holding carefully, to slip out of old isolators. Remove worn isolators. Replace with new isolators (lip towards front of machine). Re-install motor with the nut/washer all t ... Read more he way up against the stop for the least amount of pressure possible on belt tension..tighten bolt. (Believe me.. when you try to install the belt, it will still seem like the belt is not the right size and way too tight.).. It is, however, the correct belt.
Have a zip-tie ready.
Engage the new belt on the motor shaft pulley. The belt grooves should line up with the motor shaft grooves towards the end of the shaft. Grip the drum pulley and rotate counterclockwise while guiding the belt onto the pulley. At about 12 O'Clock, zip-tie the belt to the pulley.. then rotate ccw until installed.. (about 6 O'Clock). Snip off the zip-tie and your ready to go.

after cutting my hand I installed masking tape around the opening on the back of the washer. All went well after that

Beat on spline shaft until I gave up and trashed the washer. Bought new washer.

Unscrew door hinges, front panel, soap tray, lift top to 12 oclock position,unhook strap from spring located on top of the drum,tape strap ends to drum to prevent from falling,disconnect the billows drain clamp on the bottom of the billows,remove the billows by peeling off the drum, install the new billows from the top first and tape it t ... THE AMAZING STORY WAS I ORDERED THIS PART ON MONDAY AND RECEIVED IT ON WEDNESDAY!!!!!!

Even though after reading many repair blogs saying not to remove the back of the washer, I did anyway. Lo and behold after opening it, the pump was right there!! Read more ter out of the hose, and bing, the washing maching door opened and allowed my to retrieve my clothing(stinky now after the washing machine held them hostage for days) I removed it by removing 3 bolts, and 1 screw very easy. I took apart the pump to see if there was anything blocking up the moter there was nothing, but the plastic pump blade was chewed up so bad, it no longer would turn to pump out the water. I had to order a pump. When my pump came in 2 short days later, I reversed to removal process and presto!! The washing machine was running like new.

I removed the back panel and located on the left side of the washer removed the pump and replaced it.

Removed back of washer and unscrewed pump band and hose removed pump and replaced pump,replaced hose to new pump,WE really appreciated the fast shipping of the part from your facility.Thank You again

I removed top control panel and then the old power cord that been damaged by a small fire and the just attached the new power cord and control panel. Unblievably simple and I saved myself a lot of money. Where I live in a NYC suburb this type of simple repair could easily cost $100.

Removed old screws and bezel.
