Before you begin, I'd recommend unplugging the refrigerator. You have to slip the putty knife in around the edge of the dispenser panel and carefully release the tabs all the way around and the entire panel pulls straight out. It's a good idea to take note or even pictures of how the ice and water actuators are positioned on the panel, so you get them situated properly on the new panel. If the ice actuator is not fit correctly on a knob that sticks up it may dispense ice all the time (happened to me). After you transfer the actuators to the new panel and the ice and water dispensing levers, you can re-attach the electronic panel on the left side. make sure all of the wiring harnesses are plugged in and the wires situated out of the way, then re-install the panel by pushing it straight back in. Plug the refrigerator in and test it out.

Water feed line running from water valve to filter housing was leaking

Shut off water supply. Disconnect main supply line. Remove rear lower panel on back of refrigerator. Remove all tubing clamps on back. Disconnect leaking tubing from water supply valve. Remove water filter and unscrew/remove water filter housing. Replace tubing - connect to water filter housing then to water supply valve. Reconnect filter

Replaced Old Molded Gasket with new one

For the right side of the refrigerator door, just pulled off the old gasket and replaced it with the new one. Old gasket came off easily. Just had to pull it off. No screws on the right side. Just pushed the new one in place in the groove on the door.

... Read moreelps to have a second person hold the door from moving. Once flap was off, pulled the old gasket off and installed the new one just like the right side. Then screwed the flap back on once the gasket was in the groove properly.
Initially after install, it seemed like the magnet on the door was not strong enough but after a couple of days, the magnet seems a lot stronger, sealing the air out. Very happy I replaced it. It was a lot simpler to replace than I thought it would be.
The heavy work is moving the fridge, then take off the lower plans. Use a bowel or cup for screws and the water line connector spacers so you don't loos them. undo connections holding water line, including the bottom brakes for the solenoid. Reuse the spring around the lower waterline to prevent external wear on the line.
... Read morer />NOTE: remove the waterline connector spacers and save! NOTE: you must compress (not pull) the connect to then pull the waterline out of the connectors. NOTE: You must also remove the water filter and housing inside the fridge but this is easy. MOTE: Test the line for leaks by turning on the water and then using the door water. The filter will need to refill so it may take a minute before water comes up. This line only have pressure when the door water is used or the ice maker needs to make ice.
After replacing the line, test the line for leaks by using the door water so the solenoid fills the lines

Moldy and torn gaskets

Once I U tubed the the removal and replacement of the gaskets it was super easy. The right gasket change was easy without tools. The left gasket required me to remove the mullion first, which is why I used Utube.
An easy way to get a refrigerator out from the wall is to use a tow strap or 1/2 to 3/4 in. rope. Throw a loop behind refer while keeping both ends in your hands. Let it settle down to the lower half of unit and pull using both hands. Comes right out. Remove lower panel. Unscrew water valve from cabinet. Remove all tube holders L
... Read moreay some rags down to catch a little water drainage. Turn off water supply valve at wall. Unplug Power. Remove filter and filter holder. (one screw). remove tube from valve by removing plastic C clip. Push plastic ring towards the valve and pull out tube at same time. With the tube free, remove filter, then mount screw to remove the inside filter holder. When it is out, pull the tube doing the same process as the lower end. Pull tube out and replace with new one putting everything back in reverse order. Before placing tube holders back on, turn on water to check for leaks. After turning water back on and plugging in power, push refer back into place. While I was there, I also replaced the hose from the wall to the refer.

The door gaskets had become hard and curled up - would not seal properly

Watch YouTube videos on this topic if you are uncertain before tackling the job. The right door was easy to replace. Just pull the gasket with your fingers and it will come off easily. Place new gasket over door and use fingers to press it inside the groove few inches at a time. Pay attention to gasket orientation.

... Read more door is a bit harder because you need to remove the mullion at the door edge using a screw driver. Remove two screws on the center hinge and then slide the mullion up to disengage. Then unplug the wires to remove the mullion. Replace the gasket as described above and replace the mullion reversing the directions shown above.
I actually watched a YouTube video for LG refrigerators. The hardest part was taking the wire harness out. Mine was really stuck in there. But got it, put the new switch in and viola it worked. Yay!

Ice maker needed replaced

Removed 4 screws then removed ice maker unit. Unplugged the old unit. Checked and verified the inlet tube was clean and not blocked. Plugged in the new unit. ... Read more get a corner started. I was slow and careful removing the old gasket in case I needed to put it back in. A very helpful suggestion from others was to lightly rub dishwashing soap on the gasket edge that fits in the groove in the door. Again, slow and careful, got it installed, wiped off any excess dishwashing liquid, and the door closed with a better seal in a long time. Pleasantly surprised how easy this was to do!

Took off the French door Mullen by unscrewing middle area. Unconnected the wires for the door sensor. Then detached old gasket and replaced with new gasket. Reattached the wiring and snapped Mullen flap in place and finally rescrewed to the door. Seal is very good now.
