GFG464LVS2 Whirlpool Range - Instructions

Took off the screws on the back of the stove and took out the sensor, and put in the new one.

I pulled down the wire around the glass cover. . . Released on end of the wire from its holder being careful to not let the glass cover drop. Unscrewed the bulb and replaced with replacement. Easy, easy.

Open oven door and remove racks. Remove 2 screws at back of oven floor and remove bottom plate. Unscrew screws that hold flame defuser. Remove defuser. Remove screws that hold bake igniter and flame tube. Unplug wire to bake igniter. Remove screws to bake igniter. Replace old igniter with new igniter. Replace screws and wire to ig ... Replace racks. close door and test by setting thermostat to some temperature and verify that oven works.

Pulled shelves out removed bottom plate of oven remove heat shield cover removed screws had to remove bottom drawer disconnect wire from bottom of igniter and remove from top side . Replaced by reversing steps.

The bake part of the oven was not igniting all the time . I checked the website and they don't list the igniter separately from the burner tube. This part is the exact fit for the igniter. There is no need to buy the whole kit if the igniter is all you need. it will fit right on the burner tube with no modification at all. Part number PS8 ... Looked up on-line the error problem and what part I needed to fix it. Part arrived very quickly and everything was going fine until I realized the stove had two sensors. Remove the plug from outlet then shutoff gas. Remove the 10 screws hold the back panel of the oven. Unclip the connector of the temperature sensor from the main line. Pull the sensor straightout. Used cement/glue that is made for this application. Put small amount of glue in grate hole and installed grate pads. Warning: Door falls apart after removing the two screws which attach the handle. No big deal, just a suprise!

Contrary to instructions(go thru front of oven) I had to pull out the range, remove two (2) screws from back chassis. At this point you pull out the connector, snap in new, reverse proceedure. Very simple. Hardest part is cleaning up debris generated by moving range.

Take off the back panel of stove and unplugged timer motor and switch on door latch assembly,removed two screws that hold assembly and slide rod off. I put 110 volt plug to timer motor and it did not move, that is how I diagnosed problem. Ordered new assembly (cannot buy just timer motor)put new door latch assembly on and worked fine. ... First make sure it is the gas valve not the ignitor. If the clicking sound still happens then the ignitor is fine, no clicking means ignitor may be broke and try to fix that first because it is cheaper. Read more rned off the gas and pulled the power to the oven. Disassembled all the components taking pictures along the way to remember what it looked like to go back together. Installed the new valve and use yellow gas tephlon tape at the seals. Put components back in reverse order. Run the top elements first to get gas in all the gas lines and remove the air. At this point the oven bakes again.
