Would not freeze or defrost
  • RONALD from Sevierville, TN
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Pliers, Screw drivers
Unplug freezer let stand all night to defrost. Remove the tray cover which is located on the upper back area inside the freezer.( 3 twist fittings remove it ). Remove the upper stainless steel panel which is secured with 6 screws. This will drop down exposing the condenser. Note all the wires and fan will stay attached to the stainless steel panel, this panel will drop down no need to unplug anything. On the left upper side next to the condenser you will see the thermostat. Two color coded wires. Remove the thermostat and install the new one at the same location.

Freezer was no longer keeping items frozen,
  • Philippa from New York, NY
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Screw drivers
I followed the You-Tube instructions, removed the ice from the compressor and replaced the thermostat with the part I received from Part Select. What I took out was a part that was very much inferior to the replacement part. The repair saved me a lot of money for a new freezer and it was not difficult to do following the video. Now the f reezer runs better and quieter than ever. Thank you Parts Select.

  • Paul from Akron, OH
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins

The two screws that held the ice maker in place could not be seen do to there location. I could only get one hand inside do to space restriction. So I placed a mirror inside so I could see the screw heads and from point it was very easy to see and line up the nut driver on the screw heads. I then lifted it up and unplugged the wiring and i nstalled the new ice maker. Works like a charm. Paul

Valve nut stripped
  • Jesse from Woodstock, GA
  • Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Socket set
Old part threads : made in China (brass) New part : made in Mexico (steel). First, unplugged it from the wall. As for the valve, removed the two screws holding the valve in, disconnected the plug, took the pipe cutter, cut the blue line to the ice maker, cleaned up the cut, pushed that line into the new one and reassembled. Done!

Ice maker no working
  • Richard from Boise, ID
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Socket set, Wrench set
Removed water line. Removed two screws holding valve. Disconnected line from valve going to Ice maker. Replaced screws and water line. Most important thing in working with Parts Select was the information they provided when I called them. I had called electrolux and was given no information and was told they would send out a repairman at which point I told them to get lost. Cost of part $30.00 vs service call of $75.00.

Temp skyrocketed
  • Wayne from Chatham, IL
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
Took out three shelves. Removed 9 screws with a battery powered drill with a phillip screwdriver bit. Popped off the thermostat like I had seen on the video. Put the new thermostat on. Replaced the two wires one at a time. Reassembled the unit. This was so quick that my wife told me to let her know when I wanted to fix the freezer. She wa s shocked that I had completed the job. I'd been in the garage less than 10 minutes. It has been six weeks. and the freezer is working perfectly.

I noticed that the two gears weren't meshing together so upon inspection I saw that one of the gears had an inner piece missing making it weak so it kept popping out away from the other great. I ordered the new gear and unscrewed the old one off and put the new one on. So easy. It made Ice beautiful after that

ice maker will not make ice
  • Frank from Glen Allen, VA
  • Easy
  • More than 2 hours
  • Nutdriver, Screw drivers
Installed new fill valve in less than 30 minutes and waited for 24-8 hours for results to no avail. Ice maker mechanism was shot and still would not work. Went to Lowes and bought entire ice maker add on kit for my model ice box and installed in 30 minutes and have been making ice ever since. Your 99% cure rate was 100% incorrect. Save the time and effort and go to a big box store and just get a new ice maker. By the way, it only costs about $20 more to do that.
