Referencing the info/schematics you have on your website, I unscrewed/unattached top-front panel (carefully), from behind the panel you have to detach the wires (2) from the switch, pushed "in" the switch to remove, put in new switch and attach wires to test BEFORE remounting panel. The ice/water dispenser was stuck in "on" position and would not stop discharging ice cubes. First I removed the dispenser grill and face plate (2 screws at bottom of plate under grill). Then, I unscrewed and removed the ice/water selector switch (2 screws). Then, I removed the ice/water dispenser assembly (1 screw over actuator pad an ... Then I replaced the actuator pad (just slips over - not screws) and put everything back together. It was really very easy. You just need to get the correct size torx driver.

I took off the backing off the back of the refrig. & the water valve with a nutdriver. Then unpluged two wire connectors & disconnect three water lines. Pulled out the old valve & hooked-up the new valve in reverse order. It don't get any easer than that. The dripping water dispencer was no more.

Read more er to Michael's blog as to which wire goes to which connector on the Start Relay. I replaced the Run Capacitor, Start Relay and Overload just to be safe. The Start Relay was the actual culprit.Thank you for an excellent website!

Repair went well,took about five to ten minutes to disconnect the power from the fridge removed the defective switch installed the new one ,reconnected the power,,,and Let there be light and there was light!

Remove 1 screw under ice maker. Gently pull downwards to unhook ice maker. Disconnected 4 pin wire connector. Remove and set aside the cover and wire loop you will need on new ice maker. Very easy to order from parts select. Took seconds to replace.

Popped out with butter knife and unplugged 3 prong connector and reversed with anew switch.

But, unfortunately it got broken again exactly same way as before.
So, I ordered same switch again for 2nd time.

Maytag should recall that Rocker Switch and build with better materials.

removed the front panel on freezer door ,removed and disconnected panel ,removed panel containing solenoid,replaced with new solenoid. replaced all parts. works perfect..

Read more the water comes into the new icemaker by adapting a CPVC street ell to fit into the hole on the side and then hook up the water supply. Installation is just the reverse of removal.

Part received was what I needed. There was one issue--the 'feed' opening to receive water and direct it into the ice tray was a side feed and what I needed was a back feed. That means I had to do some exchanging of parts to make it work. That exercise took more time that the actual installation.

Spoke to Rep.Advised that several parts might be involved. Replaced 3 recommended parts and frig works like brand new. Saved hundreds of dollars in repairman costs.l. Plus $1000.00 for cost of new frig. If you can walk and chew gum at the same time? Easy fix. Very skilled Rep's!! Excellent service!! Great prices!! Highly recommend!!

I was told to order the run capacitor and the technician thought it would repair the refrigerator; but it did not. The appliance technician had to take the run capacitor off and install what he called a "hard start" and the refrigerator is operating right now.
