CGS365HZ0 Crosley Range - Instructions

Turn gas off at tank. Oven rack out. 2 screws out of flame spreader and remove. 2screws from ignitor. Pull oven out from location to access rear bottom cover. 2 screws out and unplug ignitor. Guess what ? Reverse order. Not worth paying gas company over 250 dollars.

I just removed the bottom panel in oven and the igniter was right where the flames should be and I removed the two screws and replaced with new part. I replaced bottom oven panel. You need to remove rear panel and plug wire and replace rear panel. My problem was solve. It took 20-30 minutes tops.

I use the table knife to slide the side of the stove to open the top. then I traced one of the wire to where it was hooked up and remove it and replaced it. I did them one by one.

Unscrewed the feet from the floor. Pried up the range top, removed burners. Unscrewed sides of the range from wooden cabinet it was recessed into. Unplugged range from outlet. Pulled range out into the open. Removed back cover. Discovered that I have the wrong replacement part.

I still don't have it back together! The first time we ordered the part the gentleman sent me the trim for the left side which seemed to be fine but while replacing it the old part (right side) broke. I took apart the bottom of the oven to see the ignighter. I moved the oven away from the wall and took off the metal plate that covers the ignighter electrical connection.Unplug the old part and plug in the new one. If all is good put the metal plate on the back of the oven and replace the other oven parts. Make biscuits!!

Removed the ice brucket,
Removed the light shield by releasing one screw using a nutdriver.
Replacing the bulb and reinstalled the light shield.

pulled the stove out removed back cover, unplug then unscrew igniter. Mounted new igniter in place, plug it back in , put cover back on, put stove back in place. Took about 20 min. Very easy repair, thank you.

Loosened two screws and removed tray, very simple. Replaced new tray and adjusted screws to hold tray. Easiest part was finding new tray part number and ordering replacement using online parts diagram.

So....the oven stopped working.
I called a local appliance guy and set up an appointment to repair.
$90 to travel here.
$50 for the part
$ labor was about $75
..then tax.
BUT then....I had a moment of clarity.
A new Oven/Range/Stove top was about $400.

A resus monkey could have fixed the stove...I really mean it...Easy is an under-statement.
I found a tutorial on you tube (how to change an Igniter.
Literally 6 screws and unplug the igniter and install the new igniter.
Replace the screws and replug in the unit.

The hardest part of all was actually remembering how to put it back together again. I put the door back on just as I had removed it, then took out the pins, and I was finally done! This was not an easy project, BUT the results look great.

took out old oven bottom by removing 2 screws, placed the new oven bottom in place put the screws back in and was done.

Took off oven door removed all screws to get old hinges out. Replaced with new hinges and put the door back together.

I trouble shot and traced out to electrical short in face panel and found burnt wires. I've been a licensed electrician for years and it takes alot of comon sense to trouble shoot and find problem. The old part, including lightbulb and socket, had corroded into place, and the glass light cover was stuck to the socket. I used a dead blow hammer and a dowel just under the diameter of the hole to tap on the back side of the socket to loosen it and get it out. The metal tabs on the old socket were folded back to make it fit better (?), ... Read more which made it harder to remove. Lots of muscling of the part to get it out. Easy to install new part once old one was out of the way. An experienced person would have removed the old part and installed the new in no time.
