25331430102 Kenmore Refrigerator - Instructions

The evaporator coil is behind the freezer. Remove the rack that makes the shelf and remove two 1/4” hex head screws I the back of the freezer to access the coil.
I used a hair dryer to melt the ice off the coil.
The thermostat clips on the refrigeration pipe to the coil. Remove the old thermostat and cut the wires at least a fe ... Read more w inches from the thermostat. Clip the new thermostat on the pipe and strip about a 1/4” of the wire ends. The electrical connectors (provided with the new part) must be crimped to connect the wires.

I slid off old caps, then slid on new caps. I pushed down metal holding clamps and I was finished. The whole process was about 5 minutes. The parts select web site was great. I looked up my parts on the easy to use catalog and ordered them. Make sure you save the broken parts or write down the part numbers to make finding your exact parts ... Read more easier. I wish all parts web sites were as easy to use as parts select.

I had to cut the retainer bar to length and then snap the end caps onto the bar. Then just snap the assembly onto the freezer. No problem!

replaced it

The switch prevented the door from closing about 5 years ago. So I just taped the switch down, and lived without a fridge light for the last 5 years. Painful! And wasteful (food spoiled because we couldn't see it.) Thought I was out of luck, assuming light switches were all the same, got fed up again, and pulled out old switch,,and search ... Removed the broken piece and snapped in the new piece bought from PartSelect. Later connected the bar between the left end cap and right end cap. All done in few minutes. The new piece fitted well into the location with no issues.

Just popped the new piece into place.

Simply clipped it on.

Just snaps into notches on each side. Bar arrived bent from shipping. Replacement was overnighted at no extra charge. Great service.

I took the broken plastic cap off and put the new one onto the retaining bar. Then snapped the the bar into place. That was it!
