Belt was worn, rollers were sticking, idler worn out. Ordered a kit to care for these issues, as usual the reapirs took almost no time. Dryer became a bit quieter for a first load, second load the motor siezed. I priced rebuilding most of the machine and determined replacement was due.

the dryer was making very loud noises when tumbeling

Watching the video from Parts Select for replacing the rollers showed us all we needed to easily replace the wheels as well as the Pulley and belt. It made a gigantic different in the noise and efficiency of the dryer. One of the Wheels was actually 3/4 gone, worn away. Hopefully, this repair will extend the life of an already old drye r. Thanks for the videos that made the repair a 'piece of cake'.

Dryer drum didn't turn

Found a DIY video clip on YouTube...Ordered the parts...I only needed a replacement belt but PartSelect had an upgrade kit that included not only the belt and rear drum support wheels, but also the tensioner arm with a WHEEL instead of just the flat metal belt guide ( which I believe lead to the belt wearing out in the first place) All th e parts fit perfectly and now it's better than new.

Horrible squealing sound - nails on a chalkboard!
  • Greg from Chagrin Falls, OH

First tried repairing the old idler by cleaning and lubricating the shaft. That lasted for about a week but the squealing returned. Ordered the part and had it in a few days. Replaced the idler wheel and it's been quietly running like new for several weeks now. Now wife thinks I'm Superman.

Broken Dryer Belt
  • WILLIAM from DELRAY BEACH, FL
  • A Bit Difficult
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Nutdriver, Screw drivers
Ordered entire Maintenance kit - good call because it was the tensioner pulley that failed and cut the belt. To replace, had to raise the top (2 screws in lint screen slot)and pull the entire front off (2 screws - 1/ea on top inner edge of front door panel then lift it up and out) Replaced both rollers, then used the parts kit shipping bo x to prop up the front of the drum while installing the belt and tensioner pully. Re-assembled in reverse order, works fine.

Loud banging noise from under dryer.

  • Easy

Watched repair video first to access problems and steps to do replacement for parts. Took more than :30 only because most of the time was spent cleaning. Amazing how much dirt and dust accumlates inside a closed unit. Even took the back off to clean and check electrical connections. Parts were exactly as shown and explained. Would a bsolutely use PartSelect again if needed.

Ok, there was a couple of other parts not on the video but were not hard to deal with. I would suggest talking a photo of the assembled parts before taking parts of for a reference when reassembling.

Dryer making loud noise on startup and during cycle sometimes.
  • Kenneth from Raleigh, NC
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Nutdriver, Screw drivers
Followed the procedure outlined in instructions included with maintenance kit. My dryer did not have a pully wheel on the idler arm. Instead it was more or less a wear bar formed in a semi circle attached to the idler bar. This is what was causing the noise. The dryer wheels were good and the dryer belt was good too after 10 years of use. The parts in the kit were of good quality and fit perfectly. The supplied instructions were easy to follow.

dryer was making a pounding sound
  • William from Longboat key, FL
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Nutdriver
Removed top of dryer and front panel per instructions and removed belt and drum. After removing what was left of the old rear drum seal I scraped off and sanded the old adhesive off. Reapplied new adhesive and installed new seal after about 3 to 5 minutes (let adhesive get tacky) I then used about a dozen spring clothes pins to hold seal in place while adhesive set up. Reinstalled drum, belt, front panel and top and job was complete. Time included letting adhesive set up. Easy and inexpensive, thank you parts select.
