10651339713 Kenmore Refrigerator - Instructions

Everything went as planned except the cold temperature (freezer door switch located inside freezer) made deflection of the switch locking tab difficult to remove. Letting the switch warm up was not an option.

The switch fix but did not fix the problem. I assumed the wires go on the same way as on the old switch. Is it possible if one light Burns out, the other will not work either?

Remove the ice bucket and check that the auger that turns in the ice bucket is free to turn. Cover the open freezer with cardboard or whatever to retain most of the freezer temperature. Open the access the door to the motor, remove wiring connector and unbolt the motor. Check the lower splines on motor shaft for condition, clean the shaft and apply new grease to the splines. Before installing, connect the wiring to the new motor, push the door switch in, press the ice dispenser arm outside the door to make sure the motor runs. If all ok, check the motor shaft for fit in the new motor. Be careful not to install the motor shaft too deep in the motor splines, otherwise there may not be enough spline showing on the top end to engage the auger. Bolt the motor in place, close access door and install the holder and ice bucket and make sure everything works. If there is not enough spline showing thru the holder to engage the auger, take pliers and pull the shaft up a bit. This seems to be a hit or miss fit on the shaft but you can adjust the height of the shaft without taking every thing apart again. That's all, not difficult at all. But do check parts and pieces for anything else you might need, parts wise, before ordering the motor by itself like I did. Shipping is high, so try to order any associated parts needed when you order the motor. By the way, This site are great to work with!

Checked a video on YouTube and found questions and answers to this concern.. All lead to the compressor capacitor. Entered part # on your Website. Capacitor come right up and also suggested a Start Device. I ordered both parts as I was not sure if these parts would fix my problem.

Slid weatherstripping off old and slid it on to new, replaced it into fridge

Just plugged it in

We looked up the problem online with the model number of the refrigerator. We ordered the part and followed the video installation that was sent with the order and was found online prior to purchasing

I removed the back cover that protected the motor and water inlet valve. Removed the screws that held the inlet valve to the refrigerator. Then I took a picture of the wiring and water lines on the inlet valve so I would make sure that I hooked up the new inlet valve properly. Pried out the old switch and installed the new switch.

Repair was tremendously easy. All I did was remove old light switch by prying out with screw driver and plugging in the new light switch and pushing it into the hole. Simple! The instructions weren't needed, but they were very thorough.

bulbs were not burnt out. received the new switch in a few days. watch the short video, was good to see how it comes out. used a putty knife to release the defective switch, removed wires put them on the new one and posed the new switch back in. Eased the putty knife under the edge of the switch housing and pried it off. Pulled two wires off the old terminals and hooked them onto the new one and reinstalled into the refrigerator body.

Had to push the light switch to get lamp to light up.
Removed power from refrig. and removed old light switch
and replaced with the one I got from Partselect. Turned power back on and was done.

Don't worry about breaking it or cracking plastic. Disconnect(unplug) wires from back of switch. Replace (plug-in) wires on back of new switch. Insert in location of old switch. Finisheed.

Unplug Dryer. Remove 2 5/16in hex screws from lower panel and remove panel.Remove 3 5/16in hex screws attaching lint duct. Remove 8 1/4in hex screws attaching blower housing. Remove 2 1/4 hex screws attaching thermostat to blower housing. Using adj. wrench on back of motor shaft nut to hold, loosen fan assy. w/ 7/8in socket. Remove 3 5/16 ... Read more in hex screws holding fan housing to motor mount. Remove 2 5/16in hex screws holding housing and motor mount to base floor. Push belt pulley wheel up enough to loosen belt and take off rear motor pulley. Motor w/mount can be slid out bottom for replacement [wires are layed toward front].Using 6in flat tip screw driver press down to unlock front & back motor bushing holddown clamps. Pinch electrical wire connector ends to pull off old motor. Remove and Install new motor, reversing steps. Belt replacement [suggested w/new motor] requires removal of 2 5/16in screws to lift/remove door w/front panel [disconnect door switch wires upper right rear corner].Remove 4 5/16 screws holding front bulkhead. Once bulkhead is pulled up and off, allow front end of drum to sag and rest IN PLACE [removal not required to slip old belt off and install new belt]. Note belt location point around drum. Slide new belt on. Reinstall bulkhead and panel/door [Don't forget door swich wires]. Adjust belt into position and push spring-held belt pully up to allow looping of new belt around rear motor belt pulley. Complete w/hand turning of drum to ensure belt is aligned and feeding properly. Reinstall lower fan housing/covers/thermostat,etc removed for motor installation.
