First I unpluged the refriderator and removed the old ice maker. I then just simply installed the new ice maker. It was just that simple. The next morning I woke up with a full tray of ice.

It was very fast and easy. Two screws to take of the ice door cover. the ice maker itself just slid out and all I did was disconnnect the wiring harness. Unscrewed the plastic bottom case and screwed onto the new one. Attached the harness and slid it back in.

Replacing the ice maker is no big deal. Just take out the old one and replace it with the new one. The replacement, however, didn't work very well. Seemed like its timer was off, so it would dump ice cubes before they were completely frozen. So, we go shells of ice cubes. Not good. Called Parts Select, advised them of the problem, a

The ice maker had quit before and I fixed it by taking it out to thaw. When it quit working the second time thawing it out didn't do the trick. The dispenser still worked so we were buying bagged ice. The dispenser lever fell apart and my wife said fix them both or "I'm calling a repairman." My in-laws recently had a bad experience with an

appliance repair service and my motto is that "if it's already broke I can't hurt it anymore" Found the Parts Select site and started reading everyone instructions. During the summer, our electricity had went off several times,so I figured that the icemaker control and motor assembly was the problem. Watched the installation video, and followed the instructions. Used parts diagrams and super glue to piece dispenser lever back together. Wife is happy and we saved $

Looking at the instructions it looked like I had to rewire the the plug in the adapter. As it turns out, you don't .Using a screw driver, I released the braket mount and the nut driver loosened the nut holding the tray to the wall. It came right off when you lift it straight up and the wire assembly was exactly the same as the original.

All I did was plug in the new ice maker, Hang the assembly on the loosen nuts and tighten again and put the screw back in the bottom bracket that held it in place. I spent longer looking at the instructions than I actually did in the whole replacement time. By morning we had a good amount of ice. EASY>>
