How to properly do control board installation
For model number GTUP270EM0WW
Hi Carol,
Thank you for your question. The best way to install a control board is to take a picture of the old board as it is still wired inside of the appliance so that you have a reference. Then when you remove a wire from your old board, plug it back into the same place on your new board. Make sure you have cut the power to your appliance before you change out your board. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

The washer does not operated. It does not take water. The dryer is ok. The mechanic from sear told me that the control board is defective and has to be replaced. My question is if there is any other control that regulates the intake of water into the washer ?

Hi Mario,
Thank you for your question. Aside from the control board, you will need to check the pressure switch and the water inlet valve. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The dyer repeatedly shuts off before the clothes are dry. It has done this in both the auto/low and auto/medium heat cycles. The problem is also intermittent (does not happen every time). The service tech suspects it may be a defective control board, but he was not sure. Is there anything else that may cause this problem?
For model number GTUP270EM1WW
Hi Tom, thank you for your question. Looking at your model information there are a few parts that you should take out and test to see which one is giving you the issue. The first parts to check in this case would be all of your thermostats and thermal fuses. You can test those parts with a multi meter and they should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. If those parts are fine, you should then go on to testing your heating element as well. You can also test that with a multi meter and it should be reading between 0 - 50 ohms. Something else you should also check would be your filter and ducts. Make sure there is absolutely no blockage that would restrict air flow in your appliance. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Our washer is intermittently stopping/pausing during the wash cycle. Could this be the control board or something else?
For model number GUD24ESSJ0WW
Hi Dave, thank you for getting in touch. Based on the description, the issue is with the control board, part number PS11729478. It manages the washer's functions such as filling, washing, draining and spinning. We would recommend replacing the control board to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!

I was told by the repair man that i need a new control board it is defective and needs to be replaced my question... is there any other part that controls lid not locking
For model number Gtup240emIww
Hello Gracie, thank you for your question. The only other part that might be the issue is the lock itself. PartSelect Number PS3496878. However, if the repair man tested the unit and both parts and determined the board was bad, that is what should be replaced. I hope this helps!
