I removed the Wire and spring from the tub seal and then removed the seal on the side of the washer that contains the Door switch. I removed the two screws that held the door switch in place while holding the switch with my other hand. Once the screws where out I pulled the switch assembly out thru the gap and removed the wires from old
... Read more assembly. I then plugged the wires into the new assembly aligned the holes up and put the screws back in the new door switch assembly. I then put the door seal and tub seal holder back on. This took about 15 minutes. I do recomend that you unplug the washer before starting this process.

I'm looking to replace the door striker and door lock on our front loading Kenmore washing machine. The door striker broke off in the door lock and the machine won't work even when we force and tape the door shut. This is the second time it has happened.
Hello Amanda, thank you for your query. You may need to replace the door lock switch assembly, part number PS7792232, and the door lock hook, part number PS8752721, to fix the issue. The door lock switch prevents the washer door from opening during the wash cycle or spin cycle and the door lock hook attaches to the washer door and activates the door lock when you close the door. Not a question....a very positive comment. First I thought my drain pump was broken so I replaced it but the unit still would not drain. Chris promptly answered my question of what else could be the problem and he suggested the door latch assembly. I ordered and changed out that part and it works perfectly now. Hello Bruce, thank you for reaching out to us. The LE error code actually indicates a motor error, specifically the control board detecting that the drive motor is locked or not receiving proper speed signals. This is unrelated to the drain pump, which is why replacing it did not resolve the issue. The most common cause of LE on your model is a failed hall sensor (Rotor Position Sensor). This small sensor clips onto the stator and monitors motor rotation, when it fails the board incorrectly detects a locked motor. On your model, the hall sensor is built directly into the stator assembly and cannot be purchased separately. The part number is PS3635512. You may need to replace it to fix the issue.
