I have a scratch on the front of my stainless refrigerator (right side). Do I need to replace the whole door?

Hello Ross,
Thanks for your question. There is no scratch remover from LG for this model, and this would necessitate buying a new door normally. However, there are some homemade solutions to touch up the scratch. Pour 2 ounces of water into a spray bottle and then add 2 ounces of white vinegar. Close the bottle off and shake it to mix the solution. Spray the solution onto the scratched area and wipe it off with a cloth to remove debris. Find the natural polishing lines of the stainless steel surface and rub the nylon abrasive pad over the scratch, moving it in a direction parallel with the natural polishing lines. Wipe it dry with a cloth and apply a small amount of stainless steel polish to fill in the remaining scratch, then wipe dry any excess polish.

I have a scratch on the front of my stainless refrigerator (right side--the side that does not have the ice maker). 1. If i have to replace the door, how much will it cost? What part do i need? 2. It's difficult to see part numbers in the diagrams, but does the part i need include both the outside stainless and the inside plastic? In other words, do i just have to unscrew the current door and replace it with a new whole door, or is it more involved than that? (i do know that i'd need to transfer the interior shelves from the old to the new, but that's easy.) thanks for your help.

Hello Ross, thank you for writing. The door is part number ADD73656004 and the cost is $273.54. The part would include the outer stainless steel panel as well as the inner plastic piece that the bins attach to, as well as the gasket. It does NOT come with the handle or the inner door bins. You should be able to simply remove the hinges that hold the door on and remove the door, and reuse all the pieces from the original to install it. I hope this helps!
