mixer does not mix 4 cups of flour with 6 eggs very easily
sat on the kitchen table and with a screwdriver started to disasemble the mixer,hardest part was taking snap ring off (easy after you buy snap ring pliers)as gears were lifted off noticeable wearing was present on all parts. the bearing housing on the gearcase was broken lose, the only major expense. the other parts are not expensive so i decided to renew all parts. glad i did felt proud of myself when job was done. would do it again Joe

How do I remove the gear from the lower case ?
For model number professional 5 plus stand mixer
Hi Tom, thank you for reaching out. Here are some general instructions that will help you remove the lower case: Unplug the mixer. Remove and pull the end cover off. Remove the trim band by removing the screws. Turn the stand mixer upside down. Loosen the set screw and remove the pedestal. Hammer out the hinge pin and pull it out. Remove the planetary gear housing by removing the planetary drip ring. Drive the pins out. Pry the gear housing out and pull it off. Pull the power cord out. Remove five screws to remove the lower case. Remove three screws and washers. Remove the gear. We hope this helps!
