A very simple repair. The only difficult moment was removing the panel on the inside as we did not want to damage the microwave.
I should have replaced it sooner.

First problem was removing the vent cover. There were four screws that were not obvious that held the cover on. Reinstalling the cover also proved to be difficult due to alignment problems. Bottom of handle is unattached at door. Can this be replaced at home by someone who is mechanically adept?
For model number LMV1813SW
Hi Carol, thank you for your question! This repair is fairly easy. To replace the handle you will need to remove the inside casing of the microwave door, using something flat like a putty knife, to access the screws that hold the door handle in place. Remove the screws using a Phillips screwdriver and screw the new handle in. The inside casing should snap back into place. Good luck with your repair!
