Will a bad damper control cause the temps to fluctuate on the freezer side on a side by side frig freezer
For model number LGHS2665KF2
Hello Craig, Thank you for the question. If the damper is stuck open or not opening properly it can cause the temperature to fluctuate. I also suggest testing the Defrost Thermostat Kit, PartSelect Number PS469522.The best way to do this is to remove the thermostat from the refrigerator so you can control the temperature of the sensor. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps!

Refrigerator keeps freezing food. Have replaced the Frig. Temperature sensor and the defrost thermostat and still freezes food. Could the damper control need to be replaced? If I power off the frig. It physically closes. Power on and it opens. Not sure how to remove the damper control and would appreciate your help if you feel that should be the next step. Thank you. John

Hi John, thank you for your inquiry. We have researched the model and would suggest checking the damper control assembly, part number PS2331826. The damper control is generally located along the wall of the fresh food section in this model. The following general instructions can be followed to remove the damper control assembly: Remove the screws holding the assembly using a nut driver. Lower down the assembly and separate it from the wire harness by pressing the locking tabs. The complete assembly will come off. Remove the wiring connections using needle-nosed pliers. Once all the connections are removed, use a putty knife to remove the damper control by slightly pushing it upwards. The Styrofoam housing may also have to be removed. We hope this information helps!

The refrigerator and freezer are working fine. however, there is an annoying buzzing noise the refrigerator is making. When i open the refrigerator door, the noise stops. If i leave the refrigerator open for an extended period of time so that the damper opens fully, the noise goes away for about 5-6 minutes then resumes again. The damper is partially of fully closed. When i open the freezer door with the refrigerator door shut, the noise continues. I removed the back cover in the freezer section and the fan is running fine with no issues or noise, and the coils look good.
