The Frigadaire refrigerator freezer defroster is frozen. How do you know it's the heater core or timer or something else?

Hello Tom, thank you for contacting us. You can check the defrost heater, part number PS2331363, and the defrost thermostat, part number PS469510, for continuity using a multimeter. Take a multimeter that has a continuity feature and test these parts to confirm that they are not shorted. If these parts are found good, the most probable cause of the issue is a bad defrost timer, part number PS423801. I own a 1990 model of white Westinghouse 2 door frost free refrigerator. The defrost heater just got defective. The length of the black tube is 19 inches and the width is 6 inches on either side. Is this the right part number to be placed on order for? Please confirm the original part numbers that i should refer to get this part
