My dryer model is listed as one that this part will work with. I just want to make sure: Is it a 5-position switch?

I believe my temperature selector switch has gone bad. I am trying to figure out how to test it to determine if this is the problem. The heat works on low and medium, on high or sanitize it is working intermittently sometimes it comes on then shuts off at other times it doesn't come on at all and I am also not able to change the temperature during the cycle if I do that the heat turns off completely.
I inspected the heating coil and that looks fine I tested the high limit switch and other parts and I have continuity so I don't believe that's the problem. All I'm left with that could be going bad is this switch.
For model number Medx655dw1
Hello Marshal, Thank you for your inquiry. To test the temperature switch, pull off the two wires attached to the contacts on the switch. At room temperature, a properly functioning switch should give a reading of zero on the multimeter. We hope this helps.
