The dryer works fine and the vent is clear. If the dial is started at more or less dry, the dryer runs but the dial does not advance. The dial does advance if a specific time is selected. What part is needed?
For model number SDE305DAYW
Hi Diane, thank you for your question. Looking at your model information there are a few parts that you should take out and test to see which one is giving you the issue. The first parts to check in this case would be all of your thermostats and thermal fuses. You can test those parts with a multi meter and they should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. If those parts are fine, you should then go on to testing your heating element as well. You can also test that with a multi meter and it should be reading between 0 - 50 ohms. If all of those parts are fine then you may want to take a look at your timer itself being the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

The timer when set on the upper 2 settings (left and right of 12 o'clock), does not let the heat come on to dry the clothes. When set at or around 6 o'clock on the dial , the heat comes on and dry's the clothes. My assumption is the timer is bad, would i be correct?

For model number SDE305DAYW
Hello Agnes, thank you for your question. I was able to verify this timer, part number WPY2200920, is the correct part for your model number SDE305DAYW. When the timer is installed, the shaft should line up with the knob to exactly the same as the original. I would recommend double checking the timer to be sure it is the correct part number for your model, and installed in the right position. I hope this helps!
