This parts indicated its a total assembly. What i am looking for is to be able to unbolt the existing ice maker totally and bolt a replacement unit back in its place. Is this that part?

Does this Kit come with directions for removing the current icemaker and installing the replacement?

Hello Charlie, thank you for that great question. Use the following instructions to replace the icemaker:
1. Disconnect the power supply.
2. Open the freezer door and remove the top shelf.
3. Remove the ice container. Pull it halfway out and lift it up.
4. Loosen the screws holding the icemaker.
5. Remove the ice maker.
6. Remove the wires from the old ice maker.
7. Replace the icemaker with a new one.
