Agitates while filling, pressure hose was clear
For model number Wtw57esvw1

Hi Pete, Thank you for the question. If the water is running slow, I suggest replacing the water valve. The timer tells the appliance when to agitate and if it is not filling fast enough it will start the next cycle before it is done filling. If the water flow is good and it just starts to agitate too soon, I suggest replacing the Sensor Switch. Hope this helps!

My washer starts to agitate as soon as it is turned on and at the end of the spin cycle it add more water. Will replacing this switch fix the problem?

Hello Kara, Thank you for your inquiry. We would recommend checking the following parts to fix your issue: the sensor switch, timer, lid switch, drain pump, drain hose, and water inlet valve. You can test the electrical parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, there are videos available online to assist you. Hope this helps!

The washing machine will not fill with water - the spin cycle still works. Could it be a pump or a water sensor?

I repaired this washer 4 years ago with this part. The machine is doing the same thing again, beginning the wash cycle with out filling with water. The relay seemed to have fixed the machine the last time. Should i replace the relay again? This relay is expensive and i’m wondering if i’m doing the right thing.

When i start my washer it agitates and fills at the same time and also at the end of the cycle the clothes aren't rinsed enough so i have to rinse them again sometimes twice, before i can dry them.

This Whirlpool washer is now spinning when at start mode instead of filling with water. When set to spinning mode it spins. Would this be the timer control ps11749654?
For model number WTW57ESVW1

Hello David, Thank you for your inquiry. I would test the other following parts first: direct drive water pump, sensor(water level) switch, lid switch, and water inlet valve. You can test them with a multimeter. Hope this helps!

My Whirlpool washer model number wtw57esv1 will start filling with water and then slow down to a trickle. Sometimes opening and closing the lid will start a good water flow then it slows to a trickle. After it fills after a long time it will agitate get to rinse and stop and we have to open and close the lid to get it to rinse then it will spin.

Hello Bobby, thank you for your question. It sounds like an issue with the pressure sensor part number WPW10248240. We would recommend checking the wire connections to the switch and testing/replacing the switch. If the valve was the issue it would never flow quickly as it should. The sensor regulates the amount of water that comes to the tub so we would suggest starting with that part. I hope this helps!

I have the above Kenmore washer, which periodically does not fill with water but starts the agitator as soon as i pull the main control knob out to start the cycle. It seems to think there is already water in the tub. I have dismantled the washer and see that the pressure tube goes into the temperature switch. I pulled the hose off and blew into it to see it is was blocked. I hear bubbles down in the tub, apparently some remaining water but no water appears above the floor of the tub when i look into the tub from above. Would that small amount of water be enough to be causing this problem? Or is it more likely that the temperature switch is defective, perhaps a diaphragm inside the switch that senses the pressure? Any insights would be appreciated.

Hi Peter, thank you for your question. It sounds like the first part you will want to check is your water inlet valve. The valve can be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 500 - 1500 ohms of resistance. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My front load whirlpool washer will not start the cycle. Checked the outlet and the fuse box all is good. I researched it on the web and one person had the same problem that was temporarily fixed by pounding on the lid. It has a sensor to adjust the water level. It is about 11 years old. Can you advice me of the part number for my front load washer for a sensor replacement. Thank you
