fan knob appeared to be wrong part
I couldn't figure out how to install the new fan knob because the D connection wasn't visible. I called the help line, and was connected to a very helpful person. She read some other reviews, and we determined that it is often necessary to remove additional parts of the previous knob before installing the new knob. I got a pair of pliers, and then had the nerve to really yank out the previous part remnants. The knob then attached with ease. I wouldn't have known what the problem was if I hadn't talked with this very helpful person. The key is--if you are installing the knob with the D connection, and you don't see a D receptacle in your old part, be brave and really exert force to pull the remaining pieces of the old knob.

The Fan Knob that was original factory stopped popping up
1) Take the old knob off by pulling straight up 2)Make sure to completely remove parts that may have stayed in the hole 3) push new Fan Knob on make sure to line up properly for the D. Don't be nervous if it looks a little different than the original factory. Much better design and this company shipped when promised. Very easy to see what you need and no hassles.

Dual element switch was defective. Found the part on the Partselect website. Part arrived in several days. Very fast delivery. The replacement switch was quite different from the original, but the schematic diagram on the PartSelect website showed how to connect up the new switch. I am impressed
Remove cooktop and placed on work bench. Removed bottom assembly by removing sheet metal screws. Removed switch bracket and then switch. Scratched head for awhile as replacement switch was quite different from original. Checked schematic on website which showed how to connect up new switch. Reassembled. Wife now talks to me again now that her favorite stove burner is working.

broken fan knob assy
I used needlenose pliers to remove part left on shaft, regular pliers are too big. The original part had a metal insert so there was some rust and build-up on the shaft. I cleaned it with WD40. The new knob took a good bit of hand pressure to install.

Knob was broken and would not stay on.
I at first tried to put it on the stem but it would not go on and stay. I went to this website and read several instructions and realized i had to remove more of the old know. I took out the inside part but still no go. I them took out the outer sleeve and was able to install and works great. Don't be afraid to keep taking the old parts out until you are down to just the post. Wife is very happy now. Thanks

Fan knob broke
Read the other folks descriptions of how they pulled out the leftover parts with needle nose pliers after they figured that the new knob would not fit with those other parts still on the range top. Took the leap of faith, pulled the parts out until I got to the D knob and slid the new part right on.

Broken knob fan
Item looked exactly as part to be replaced. Knob lifted out, used pliers to remove rest of Knob assembly then lined up the Dr shapes on Knob and cook top and snapped into place. Took all of 30 seconds to do. Knob looks exactly the same as the Knob it replaced.
