LED lights faded and eventually disappeared
First, I turned off the circuit breaker to the double over.
Second, I opened the oven door. At the top of the frame, underneath the panel are four screws (not evenly spaced) that I removed. I held onto the glass control panel, not wanting it to come down when I removed the screws, but this was unnecessary as there is a ridge in the back to keep it in place.
Third, I lifted out the glass control panel. There are two sets of wires going from the oven to the control panel. One set of wire connects in two places (three connections in total).
Fourth, I simply disconnected these wires from the chips (lifting them off), trivial. They all have different connectors, so there is no chance of getting them mixed up. If you have never touched any new electronics and are completely unfamiliar with plugging wires on a chip, you may take note of the orientations of the connectors), but it is fairly dummy-proof.
Fifth, there are four screws holding the display in place. Used the socket wrench for these (they go through the holes you see on the side of the unit in the picture).
Sixth, reversed the last operation, screwing the new display in place on the removed panel.
Seventh, Some of the teeth on the connector of my new display were bent over. I bent these straight so the connector would go over them, and reconnected the wires, carefully(!)
Eighth, slipped the glass panel in place. When seated properly, it does not shift.
Ninth, secured panel with the four initial screws.
Tenth, turned on the circuit breaker.
Eleventh, was shocked by how bright the new LED was!

Electronic display was too dim to read and the top baking element was burned out.
I removed two screws to take the control panel off.
The electronic display is held in place with four screws which are easily removed with a nut driver.
The wiring work is extremely simple.
To replace the element, I removed the oven racks, took two screws out, disconnected the two wires, then replaced the element by reversing the process.
Both jobs took less than 20 minutes and that includes two trips to the breaker box in the basement.

The Over display was getting dimmer and dimmer, could not see the clock.
First, I searched ythe partselect.com web site for "Dim over display for Jenn-Air double over" and found an answer to some one with the exact same model as me. The answer said to order the "clock assembly" and all would be solved.

So, I ordered the assembly, it arrived. First thing I did was turn off the circut breaker for the over! I removed 4 screws holding the oven display in place. With those 4 screws removed, I was able to remove the clock assembly with 4 more screws and 3 cable connecters.

Put the new assembly in place, hooked up the connectors and turned the circut breaker back on. Everything was done and working within 15 minutes! Could not have been easier, it's great to have the display back again, we can now tell the oven temp, how much time is left on the timer, etc!

Neither broiler, or oven elements work in either oven. The digital display does not show any error code.
For model number jjw8630baw

Hi Dave, Thank you for your question. I would suggest just testing your broil element, bake element, and your temperature sensor with a multi meter to check to see if they are all working correctly. If they are, you may have to replace your electronic control board. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

The lower oven stopped working. When the door was closed during broiling cycle there was a bright flash, also the display does not work. Do I need a new control board
For model number JJW9630AAW

Hello Rollo, Thank you for the question. Sounds like the Board was shorted out and needs to be replaced. We also suggest you test the bake and broil element and the Long Oven Sensor as they could have been effected as well. We hope this helps.

I have a double oven and the top oven has had an F2 code (I think that was the code) a couple times. It will overheat and not turn off when it has reached temperature. The only way to stop it is to turn off the power at the panel. It is not consistent. Sometimes it works just fine. Bottom oven has had no problems. Will a new control panel fix this issue? Oven is 21 years old but works well so I really don't want to replace the oven. If this is not the correct replacement part, what part should I get instead?
For model number JJW9630AAQ
PartSelect logo
Hello Darcy, thank you for the question. The F2 error code occurs if the measured temperature within the oven is too high. This does not necessarily mean that the actual temperature inside the oven is too high, but it could. The reason for that is that the control board, and the sensors measures the temperature. Check sensor, sensor harness, and the sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. If this does not help, we recommend replacing the temperature sensor, part number PS1570174. We hope this information helps!

Hi Jack, thank you for getting in touch. If you have replaced the touchpad, first, make sure all the connections are secure and that you have connected it correctly. If it is still not working, it is possible that the control board, part number PS11743899, is faulty. Glad to be of help!

I have a double wall oven and the top oven will not heat. The clock and led display work. No error is displayed. The bottom oven works just fine.
For model number JJW8630CAB
PartSelect logo
Hi Fidel, Thank you for your question. Based on what you described it sounds like an issue with the long oven sensor that detects the temperature in the oven. You will need to test it with a multimeter. Also check the wiring between the sensor and the electronic control board to see if that is not causing the issue as well. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Hello Laura, thank you for your question. The F7/F1 code for this unit is in reference to a stuck button on the touch pad. Unfortunately, the touch pad for your unit has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase. We would recommend contacting the manufacturer to see if there are any other options. I hope this helps!
