Refrigerator sat in storage in sub zero weather, water in Dual Water Inlet Valve froze, cracking valve.
This is the 2nd time I have used PartSelect, and this experience was as pleasant as the 1st. The exploded-view diagrams make parts identification very easy; and the photo of the actual part is such a great idea, it allows you to verify what you need. I also got my part (cross country, in 3 days)
Repair Procedure: Shut off water supply. It may be easier to work if you disconnect the water supply tube, but it is not required. On the backside of the refrigerator, remove the bottom, black plastic protection panel. You will need a nut driver or battery-powered screw driver with a 3/8" socket tip on it. Next, remove the black metal panel that holds the water inlet valve in place. Remove screws with a nut driver. 1st remove the two flat-pin power connectors. (They are different sizes and color-coded, so there is no room for making a re-hookup mistake). Then proceed to remove the hoses. The hoses are pressure-lock tubing, so push the plastic disk in or down where the tube goes into the main body of the valve. Do this for all three hoses (tubes). Switch water valves and reverse the procedure. **Be certain that the tubes are pushed back in as far as they can go; if you do not re-seat the tubes, the pressure from the water going back in the valve, will blow the tubes right out the valve (ask me how I know this!). Once reassembled, turn the water back on slowly. Make sure you turn the water supply valve all the way open, it seats itself internally when you do and is less prone to drip leaks. That's it! (As a former kitchen remodeler, I find this a great DIY project).

Water leaking from Water Inlet Valve
Ok, pretty easy repair when the parts are correct (first part was faulty, parts select quickly sent me a new one)
First is removal, these tubes are in there very tight, they can be pulled out but weaken the lines and it is not likely to work without severly stretching the line to the point of breakage, if you have to cut them do so carefully and take off as little tubing as possible as you need the length to feed from top to bottom.
Once you have cut all the lines, or pulled them out (I was able to get 2 out without cutting) then make sure the edges are smooth, attach the inlet valve to the plate and just push them tightly into the new valve making sure you route the lines correctly.
Turn everything on and run the water line to see if it works. If no leaks, screw it back to the refrigerator and you are good to go. Takes maybe 20 minutes at most.

No Water Dispensing
4-Screws 3 plactic hoses to remove pull 3 tubes out and instol new part last then 15 min. Making shure is no leaks. Easy

Water would not dispense
First turned off the water at the valve. Next I undid the 5 screws holding the plate that holds the pump. Next disconnected the power connectors, then the water lines. Next undid the screw holding the pump, removed pump. Next, mounted the new pump to the plate, this was tricky because it has to fit kind of upside down, so you have to wrangle it into the proper position then align the screw hole. Next, secured it to the plate with the screw, re-connected the water lines, then the power. Before mounting it back to the fridge, I tested to see if it worked, well, it didn't. My heart sank. I re-checked all connections, I redid the entire process, disconnected and re-connected and still did not work. I researched the problem online and someone posted maybe the water filter might be clogged or defective. So I removed the water filter and put the stop plug in, and it worked perfectly. I went and exchanged the filter and plugged it in and still had the same problem. I am now suspecting the filter receptacle is the fault, but we will do without that for the time being. But the pressure is much better so changing the pump was still necessary. All in all a very interesting repair. I learned a lot about how the system works and now I need to replace the damper, it is very noisy.

Took the valve off from the back of the frig and reinstalled the part I purchased from Part Select. The part was an exact OEM part, not a substitute that others had. froze and cracked
unsrewed the back plate, removed three tubes. Then I removed old valve and replaced with new. Pluged two harnesses back in the new valve. Truned water on and checked for leaks and operated the filtered water tap and the ice maker. All went well. I really like your site for the pictures included with the part, I like to see what I'm ordering.

The fill tube was freezing up after about 60 days of use.
Pulled the unit from the wall, and unplugged, and turned off the water. Removed the back plate at the bottom of the refrigerator to gain access to the water inlet valve. Disconnected three tubes and two electrical connections and reconnected to the new inlet valve. Reassembled the back plate. Then turned everything back on and checked for leaks. Re-Installed the back plate. This was a fairly easy repair. The only problem I had was getting the water lines off the old valve. It was a bit of a struggle for me. I did watch a couple of you tube videos before I got started.
Plumber came to stop the water leak and told us it was a bad valve so I ordered the part - thank you Kate! - it was exactly what we needed. Disconnected the old valve (making note on the process) and installed the new valve in reverse process. Turned the water on and dispensed water and it leaked from one of the lines at connection. With the water turned off, my son again with pliers carefully pushed the tubing harder up into the valve and heard/felt it click into place and it has worked like a charm since. Good son and mom team.

Water in door valve was leaking
Removed rear access removed valve mount turned off water supply Unplugged out of the wall plug removed the two electric plugs removed the three water lines installed the new valve in reverse order, check for water leaks worked perfect

Stead flow of water from under the refrigerator
Unplugged and disconnected the water supply.Disconnected the water line coming from the filter and cut about 1/8 inch off to square it off. Unscrewed panel to expose inlet valve. With a marker I noted where the lines need to go back to. Disconnected the other two lines and made fresh straight cuts with a utility knife. Disconnected both plugs from the old inlet. The yellow one was difficult to get off, so I carefuly used a screw driver. Be careful, you don't want to break the plug. Reinstalled the new inlet. make sure that you push all of the lines in the valve so that they are completely seated. Make electrical connections. Secure valve to the panel. The water line from the filter should be the last line that you connect. Put screws back in the panel. Plug in and turn on water supply. Fill up a gallon container from water dispenser. Check for leaks. Let the ice machine fill up. Check for leaks. Place back panel back on and secure. GOOD LUCK!

Water pump i need the piece that holds the water line down in the Green fitting.Possibly a blue piece like is on the other two connections. Is it included?

Thank you for your question. You should not need a fitting. You should be able to push the tubes right in. When i push the button to get water dispensed on the inside wall, there is a loud chattering noise. Sometimes stopping and starting the water flow makes the noise stop. Is there a solenoid valve that controls the water flow and can it be easily replaced?

The problem i am having is with my almost 10 year old refrigerator. It is making "hollow" and or light ice cubes and the water dispenser is coming out in just a dribble or lacking any pressure. I replaced the water filter and tested the water pressure (that was a steady stream). What else do i need to check?

Ice comes out fine but when i push button for water nothing comes out, i can hear a click but nothing?

Hello Christopher, thank you for your question. You could have a frozen water line, or the water inlet valve in your model refrigerator is a duel water inlet valve. One side of the valve is for the ice maker and the other side for the water dispenser. We suggest checking the water inlet valve part number: PS11743697 for continuity. Set your multimeter to the R X 1 ohms setting to test for continuity. Place each of the multimeter's leads on a terminal. Your multimeter should display a reading between 200 and 500 ohms. Closely examine your water inlet valve. The exact ohm resistance rating you should test for may be marked on the valve. If the test you conduct with your icemaker water inlet valve does not produce these results, then you should replace the water inlet valve. I hope this helps!

Mzd2766ges Maytag plus has minor water leak at water dispenser. Would one replace water inlet valve or dual water inlet valve assembly first?

Hello Jim, thank you for your question. If the leak isn't coming from the broken water dispenser tube we would recommend testing the Limit Switch - 2 Terminal Part Number: WP61005520 and both water valves to see if they have failed. If the water valves remain open the water will come from the valve continuously. I hope this helps!

When I look up my model two different "dual water valves" come up. One is $20 different than the other and the bracket looks slightly different. Do either fit? Or do I need to remove mine first to pick the correct one? Tnx, Mike

I was getting no water flow to the dispenser, and no ice production. I have water pressure to the dual water inlet valve, and just replaced the dual inlet valve. But still no water flow. I have the filter bypass cap in place too. Any suggestions to try next?

Water is not getting to the ice maker. It is however getting to the dispenser in the fridge itself. How do I know if the water valve is working or not. I can hear and see the ice maker going through it's cycle, just not making ice.I already replaced the filter.

Hi Mike, Thank you for the question. The valve has two sides, one for the ice maker and one for the dispenser. In some cases when the valve becomes defective it is only on one side, so it is possible for the ice maker side to be defective and have the dispenser still operating. You are able to test the valve with an Ohm meter. Here is a link on how to test the valve. Hope this helps!

My maytags water dispenser steadily pours water out of door. Would this be due to water inlet valve? Single switch for water and ice in door works when on ice function.

Hi, my ice maker for my Maytag mfc2061kes recently stopped working. The ejector spins, but there is no water filling the tray. The internal water dispenser is still working so I assume this means the solenoid/input valve is working. At this point, I assume the entire ice maker assembly needs to be replaced. Please advise.
