Product Description
Multi-Temp Cycling Thermostat with Internal Bias Heater Specifications
This thermostat controls the internal drying temperature.
Cycling themostats continually cycle the heating element off and on to maintain a constant inner temperature. This particular cycling thermostat has a limit of 150 degrees Fahrenheit and a differential of 25 degrees. Meaning that with this thermostat, the heating element will cut out at 150 degrees and cycle back on once the internal temperature drops by 25 degrees.

Dryer over heating...not shutting off or going thru cycles properly.
Opened front of dryer & watched the heating unit not shutting off. Purchased the proper high limit thermostat. Replaced it and the multi-temp cycling thermostat for good measure. My dryer runs like new with no additional problems. Thanks for making parts so readily available. Thought I was going to have to replace my dryer, but now it's fixed.....Thanks,again.

noisy operation and then no heat
First I removed the two screws near the bottom of the front panel. Then I removed the front panel by rotating it outwards. Next I removed the front frame section by removing the four screws. The tumbler rests on this frame piece so remove it carefully and it will stay put - no need to take it out. The grinding noise I was hearing was the tumbler (drum) running on the frame - the glides (bearings) were worn out. This had generated piles of metal powder which I vaccumed up. It was easy to locate the reason there was no heat - the thermostat was burned to a crisp. It torched part of the blower seal in the process. The reason the thermostat fails in this manner is the lint duct gets clogged up increasing the duty cycle of the heater which fries the thermostat. I had to strip back the red wire and install a new blade connector but the thermostat just bolts on easy enough. You'll need a rivet gun to replace the glides. Drill out the old rivets and pull them out with some pliers. Easy enough to do and it runs like new! Good luck.

My dryer timer only moves on the timed cycle. The two other cycles when used the dryer does not turn off unless you turn it off manually.-william
For model number DE8200
Hi William, thank you for your question. Looking at your model information there are a few parts that you should take out and test to see which one is giving you the issue. The first parts to check in this case would be all of your thermostats and thermal fuses. You can test those parts with a multi meter and they should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. If those parts are fine, you should then go on to testing your heating element as well. You can also test that with a multi meter and it should be reading between 0 - 50 ohms. Something else you should also check would be your filter and ducts. Make sure there is absolutely no blockage that would restrict air flow in your appliance. If all of those parts are fine then it may be your timer that is the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Dryer heats and runs for a few loads then shuts down and will not restart. Timer ticks, but no start. After 1/2 hour or so the dryer will start and run again continuing to dry for a few more loads. This has happened twice in the last week.

Hello William and thanks for writing.
It sounds like your dryer is overheating. The heating element warms the air before the air enters the dryer drum. If the element is partially shorted out, it may produce heat continuously, even if the dryer has reached the proper temperature. When this happens, the dryer gets too hot and stops and has to cool down before you can restart it again. heating element # PS11740682, We hope this helps. Please contact us at any time

How do i test this part to see if it is actually bad ?
For model number LDE8404ACE
Hi Tim,
Thank you for your question. You would test each terminal on this part with a multi meter. When testing the part, set your meter to the lowest setting. They should all read as zero. If your meter does not move at all, the part is bad and will need to be replaced. Good luck with your repair.

Hi, i just replaced my rollers, belt, idler pulley and glides. The next time we used the dryer, i noticed that i had dislodged some lint and it was not venting properly. After that was cleaned out, it got stuck on the "less dry" setting when using automatic shutoff and would run for hours. Did i burn out my cycling thermostat?
For model number LDE8414ACE
Hello Tom, Thank you for your inquiry. We would recommend checking the following parts to fix your issue: door switch kit, cycling thermostat, dryer timer, high limit thermostat, thermal fuse and the heating element. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, there are YouTube videos available to assist you. Hope this helps!

Dryer is too hot on all temperature settings, i have replaced the high limit temperature thermostat
For model number LDE7334ACE
Hello James, thank you for your question. We would recommend testing the other thermostats and fuses. Any time there is an over heating or under heating issue the problem is most always a thermostat. Those parts are Multi-Temp Cycling Thermostat with Internal Bias Heater PartSelect Number: PS11740684, Thermal Fuse (Limit: 183) PartSelect Number: PS11740678, and Thermal Fuse PartSelect Number: PS11740687. Testing these parts is very easy. Set your multimeter to the R X 1 setting. Take each of your meter's probes and touch one to each terminal. You are testing for continuity, and you should receive a reading of either zero or infinity. At room temperature, testing the thermostat should produce a reading of zero. But if a thermostat is tested when it is heated to its limit, a reading of infinity should be produced. We strongly recommend that you test your thermostat at room temperature. If the test you conduct with your thermostat does not produce these results, then you should replace the component. I hope this helps!

Dryer won't heat, in checking thermostats for continuity.PN 3-07249 has continuity between all wires except the white/red wire. Should this white/red wire have continuity to any of the other wires on the thermostat? Thank you so much.
For model number LDE7600ACW
Hello Terry, thank you for your inquiry. According to our research, the issue is most probably with the cycling thermostat, part number PS11740684. It monitors and regulates the temperature inside the dryer. It should have continuity on all the terminal. If any of the terminal has no continuity, this means that the thermostat is faulty and needs to be replaced. We hope this information helps!
