Start Switch Specifications
This start switch is a manufacturer-approved replacement part for your dryer. A faulty start switch means your dryer will not begin its drying cycle. In order to complete this repair, you will need a Phillips screwdriver. Once you access the switch, disconnect the two wire leads and attach them to the new switch. Make sure to disconnect power to the unit before beginning this repair, and wear work gloves.

Too costly for what it is. Buy from the States.
The starter switch is simply made out of a plastic box and some metal strips so why is it so expensive. It probably cost 50 cents and yet it cost $45. Total rip off. I would recommend you buy any part from from the States.

Knob craked and broke off the start switch
Removed all the knobs but the master washing machine control knob, then the control and cover panels by removing the two screws that held each one. Then removed the end plastic pieces to allow access to screws holding the switch onto control panel. Used pliers to pull wires off the old switch and put them back on new switch. Screwed it back in place and re-attached plastic end pieces. Re-attached the control panel, then the cover panel under the control panel.

Broken Knobs on two control switches. The switches needed to be replaced.
Had to trial and error my way to getting the control panel off. The parts diagrams on this site were very helpful, but didn't tell the entire story. Started to pull the entire front dryer panel off then found that only needed to remove two panel screws to gain access to all the screws holding the control panel on. With those removed the panel came off as a unit and was easily disassembled. Screws securing the switches are easlily stripped, so be careful. Rest of job was just pulling off wiring clips and reattaching. Everything went back together easily.

Dryer control switch was broken
I pulled the panel removing 4 screws then removed the switch panel by removing the two screws holding that in place. I pulled the switch panel down and removed the 2 screws holding the switch in place. I then removed the two wires connecting the switch and reinstalled everything. The whole process was less than 15 minutes.

The control knob could no longer be attached because the plastic piece that sticks out was broken off.
We replaced the start switch and the knob. Wasn't difficult. Just had to remove the front panel, unscrew and remove the wires from the existing switch, and then put the new one on. The new control knob then popped right on top of the new start switch.

If the beige plastic screw under the dryer start knob is broken, do i need to buy the entire f10 start switch?
For model number GLET1031CS0
Hello Sharon, thank you for contacting us. That would be the shaft from the switch, you would need to replace the entire switch if the shaft is broken. Good luck with the repair!

Hello, The dryer on this washer/dryer unit hums when i try to start, but the drum does not start spinning. is the start switch most likely issue? thanks
For model number FLSG72GCSA
Hi Will, thank you for your question. It could be. You might also want to take a look at your door switch as well. Though if those parts are not the issue, the problem could be in your motor. Good luck with your repair.

How to open panel in order to replaced start switch of the Dryer. (knob and shaft of the switch is Brocken)
For model number GCET1041AS1
Hello Vivek, Thank you for your inquiry. To open the panel, you would need to remove the screws holding the control panel end caps on using a Philips screwdriver. Remove the two screws from each side and pull up and out. There are also 4 screws at the bottom of the panel that would need to be taken out. We have also included a link to our repair video for a similar switch to give you a general idea of the repair. We hope this helps.

The dryer does not turn on. Does nothing. The washing machine if it works is a washer dryer combo. Which can be the diagnosis.
For model number flse72gcta
Hello Veronica, thank you for inquiring. If the dryer will not turn on, you will want to consider replacing either the Thermal Limiter part PS419402, the Start Switch part PS1146154, or the Motor with Pulley and Blower Housing part PS1150913. We hope this helps.

In regard to my prior question on my dryer humming but not starting to spin when switching to “on”, is there a way to see if the start switch needs replacing by looking at it? If it could be multiple things i will probably just replace it.

Hello JAMES and thanks for writing.
Are you able to reconnect the wire to the timer? As it might have just come loose. Chances are that this is where the problem lays if everything was functioning before. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime.
