My fridge is making ice and will dispense water but will not dispense ice. If i push the lever and pull up the flap inside the chute right away it will work and dispense ice. Its like the part that opens the chute is not working correctly.

The refrigerator door water dispenser will not stop pouring out water. I had to shut off the water line to the ice maker to have it stop. I'm not sure do i need to replace the module-dispenser or the water inlet valve or both. Once i shut off the water line. The water inlet valve began to make a sound as if it would not stop operating and it progressively became louder so i disconnected it. Did it do that because of the lack of water or because it was the original problem in the beginning.

Hi Kenny, Thank you for your question. If the water inlet valve is making a noise then a component in the water inlet valve is malfunctioning and it will need to be replaced. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The ice maker freezes over and won’t make ice. Is this the part needed to replace it?
For model number FGUB2642LF1
PartSelect logo
Hi Aubrey, Thank you for your question. If the ice maker is not making ice, There are some parts that you will need to check to see which ones are causing the issue. You will need to check the water filter, the shut-of arm assembly, the ice solenoid and the water inlet valve. If the ice maker is freezing over, make sure the refrigerator is set to the proper temperature, if it is too cold this could cause the the ice maker to freeze over. Also check the drain tube in the freezer to see if there is any food debris preventing water from draining from the freezer during the defrost cycle. If the drain is clogged ten water cannot drain out and the water will freeze. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

This is more of an fyi to owners of this fridge, i bought nearly $500 worth of parts trying to get my ice maker/water dispenser to work to no avail. I started taking apart the fridge and found the water line that coils inside the back of the fridge to cool before dispensing was a giant block of ice. I removed the cover and used a hair dryer to melt the ice and the water dispenser worked immediately.

The water and ice dispenser on the door will not go back into "off" position automatically after pressure is removed, keeping the water/ice running until manually pulled back to "off" position. How can I fix this?
For model number FFHB2740PS3
PartSelect logo
Hello Rhonda, thank you for contacting us. The dispenser lever or switch may be stuck in the "pushed in" position. This is generally caused by residue build-up on the dispenser. We would recommend turning off the refrigerator for 10 minutes after emptying the ice maker. If this does not help, the ice-dispenser electronic control, part number PS10060198, is most likely faulty. Customer service is always available to help you place an order if you are having trouble doing so. Good luck with your repair.

Hi, the water at the door stopped working. I assumed it was the inlet valve but it checked out okay (and i replaced it anyway) i replaced the filter and no water at the door. Also not making ice. I can hear the inlet valve solenoid click when i try to pour water and i believe it filled the water filter. The fridge is about 5 years old and never had a frozen water line, could that be the case? If i disconnect the lines at the inlet valve, should i be able to blow air through them all? Any suggestions?
For model number LGUB2642LF4
PartSelect logo
Hello Eric, thank you for your question. Yes, you should be able to blow air through the tube that comes from the water valve and goes into the unit. After disconnecting the tube at the valve end, blow through it. You should be able to blow through it with ease. If you can't with ease blow through the tube then you need to clear the blockage. You can use a hairdryer set on low to blow air up through the tube, this can take a few attempts before the blockage is removed. I hope this helps!

Frigidaire ice maker (upper section of refrigerator) does not make ice. I have replaced the ice maker, the 4 solenoid water valve assembly, the water filter, shut down over night and emptied it, tested the wire harness... to no avail. i can manually fill the tray and it freezes just fine (using the troubleshooting screens). the water dispenser works fine as well as the ice maker in the freezer section. i am an electrical engineer and am baffled by this. i can only assume it is one of the controller modules? your guidance and help is appreciated.

Hello Tim and thanks for writing. This is a tough one, so you are saying there is no water getting to the ice maker? You have replaced the water inlet valve correct? Have you checked the water line from the inlet valve to the ice maker for blockage? There could be some debris stuck in there, or is it possible that the line to the ice maker is freezing up thus not letting water thru? You can also try this : How do you reset a Frigidaire ice maker? To be sure the control arm is the problem, do a full Frigidaire ice maker reset. Depending on your model, you can perform a hard reset on your ice maker using the control panel. Hold the on/off button until the LED is red. Wait a couple of minutes and then hold the same button until it's green. If that does not clear the problem it might be an issue with your house water pressure itself. If the water inlet valve is defective, or if it has insufficient pressure, it won't... allow water to flow through. As a result, the ice maker won't make ice. ... If the water inlet valve has sufficient pressure and is getting power, but the ice maker won't fill with water to make ice, replace the water inlet valve. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime.
