wr01l04393 what is the purpose of the shunt sensor? How does it work? i do not have one in the grill cover in our freezer and have yearly problems of freezing in ff dept. Starting when the fridge was new in 2015-also tech installed new thermistor and did not place back in to the shunt--this fridge has never worked properly.

the shunt sensor wr01l04393 looks like a piece of heavy tinfoil the sticks to the grill cover wr01l04066 the thermister snaps in to this cover-in my case the thermister was not installed into the cover in the ff deptafter repairman replaced the thermister the fz has never had the tinfoil shunt attached to the cover-is this why the ff dept is always freezing?.colin

Hello Colin, Thank you for your inquiry. This part covers and forms a seal along the back of the temperature sensor. If this seal is not there, it can cause the sensor to read the incorrect temperature. We hope this helps.
