hole in bellow
  • FAYE from ZEBULON, GA
  • Really Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Pliers, Screw drivers
Took the outer ring off with the help of pliers just be careful. Push the bellow into the washer. We cleaned the area good at this time. Put the new bellow in being sure to keep the wrinkles out and securing it in place with the other clamp. Make sure to keep it lined up and wrinkle free to prevent leaks and possible tears later on. You will need the screwdriver to tighten the screws in the inner clamp.

Securing arm broke.
  • David from Union, NJ
  • Really Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Screw drivers, Socket set
I started by dismounting the door from the washer, then placed the door on a flat counter with a towel underneath to avoid scratching. I unscrewed all the bolts securing the the frame. Once the frame was removed, I dismounted the broken door hinge and secured the new one in reverse order. Just a little time and patience. Job completed with no mess!

Bellow was torn by clothing
  • Donnie from King, NC
  • A Bit Difficult
  • 1- 2 hours
  • Nutdriver, Screw drivers
Unplug washer. Open door. Look at the very bottom of the bellow and will see a spring that is connected to a small wire that runs around the bellow holding the outside on. Using a flat head screw driver insert it between the wire and bellow, pull down slighty. Grab the wire and gentley pull off. Now the outer part of the bellow will be fr ee, pull it toward you, and off the water/soap despinser, then push it into the washer. Now look to the right side and you will see a screw head that is actully a big clamp ring around the bellow. This is the hardest part. Use a small rachet screw driver with a 7mm socket to lossen. Pull clamp off gently, you can now removwe the bellow. Put bellow back on in reverse. There will be a small tab on the bellow it goes to the top. Took about 2 hours.

Whirlpool Front loader washining machine F21 error code
  • Don from Lyndeborough, NH
  • Easy
  • 1- 2 hours
  • Nutdriver, Pliers
Unplugged washer first! Removed front bottom panel by removing three screws, unscrewed the Drain Plug assembly by turning drain plug counter clockwise with a bucket to catch excess water from washer. Used pliers to remove spring clamps from washer agitator drain hose and then removed the spring clamp from the hose going to drain. Checke d hoses for obstructions, then Slide Drain Pump assembly up to the right to remove. Then installed new Drain Pump assembly by sliding pump into slot to the left. Connected the agitator and drain hose to new Drain Pump and fastened with spring clamps. Plugged in AC line cord and turned washer on and started a quick wash cycle to check for leaks and to see if the water drained from washer properly. The water drained from washer and error code did not appear. The error code F21 reappeared during the second wash cycle. After closer inspection with a flash light, I found a large piece of cloth caught between the washer agitator and washer tub covering the drain by shining the flash light up towards the Agitator tub. This was solved by removing the Drain Pump assembly and all of the drain hoses again. Then removing the the large hose from the agitator tub and then removing the large piece of cloth from agitator tub. After reassembly, the washer worked like new!

Searched internet for diagnosis. Ran diagnostic test using the diagnostic manual from whirlpool. The error code was F29. Replaced door latch but problem was not solved. Then order the Motor Control Unit. Removed old control unit through the top by removing the top washer cover and numbering harness positions with painter's tape. Install the new Control Unit and ran diagnostic procedure. The problem was solved. The washer is working fine.

  • Charles from Murphy, NC
  • A Bit Difficult
  • 1- 2 hours

We hired a local repairman and he even had trouble . I would not suggest anyone trying this installation on their own. It took the repair guy an hour to do and he struggled. Not an eary installation

Bellow had a large hole in it, and was letting water drain out all over the floor.
  • Daniel from North Pole, AK
  • A Bit Difficult
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers
It was a little difficult to put the new Bellow in place on the tub, due to the fact you have to basically push the outside of the Bellow all the way into the tub so you can install the tub clamp. The other difficult part of the task was tightening up the clamp it's self. There really isn't a lot of room to move your hand around in the sp ace you are given to work. But after a few hand cramps and a few things said, that are not needing repeated, I was able to get the clamp tight. Once you have the clamp on the tub, it's basically pretty simple to slide everything else into place. The wire/spring clamp that is used to attach the Bellow to the front of the washer is fairly simple to put into place with a little patience. All in all it was a cheep and easy repair for a due-it-your self repair.

Drain pump was not working properly
  • Daniel from Ruther Glen, VA
  • A Bit Difficult
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Nutdriver, Pliers, Screw drivers, Socket set
First, I watched the video again just to make sure I had a firm grasp of the task ahead. I gathered up the tools and proceeded to begin. First obstacle: getting the washer tilted back enough to put the blocks under the front feet. The washer was sitting inside a square water pan with a drain connected directly under the middle of the w asher. Therefore, the water pan did not move and I could only get the washer moved out far enough to 'barely' put the blocks underneath. Second obstacle: a clump of hair had gathered at the bottom portion of the door unnoticed and caused a slow leak from the bellows. This leak dripped down and rusted out two of the three screws. I had to use a socket set to get the screws out. Third obstacle: getting the pump removed from the bottom of the washer. With the drip, the pump had stuck to the bottom of the washer. Trying hard not to get cut on the sheet metal bottom, I pushed and pushed and pulled until finally the pump let loose. From that point on..smooth sailing just like the video. Washer fixed!

The washer was flashing f-21 code. And the cloths were soaked.
  • Steven from Kalamazoo, MI
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers, Socket set
First thing, unpluged the washer. I removed the lower front acces panal. I then propped the washer up on 2 pint sized paint cans to reach the pump mounting screws. I disconnected the wire bundle going to the pump. Then removed the inlet and outlet hoses from the pump. Then I removed the 2 mounting screws on bottom and slide the pump to th e left and removed. I then pump the new pump on the same way I took the old one off, but in reverse. Easy and fast the worst part was the price of the pump.

The washer was sending an error code (F21) and it was getting worse about draining I tore it apart twice and decided to order a new pump through your website and it can quick and I installed it and it works perfectly now after a year of cleaning the filter and not getting anywhere
  • Wade from Nevada, OH
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Pliers, Screw drivers
My dryer is on top my washer so I removed the dryer and pulled the washer out. I had to get rid of the water that was inside so I used my wet vacuum on the drain hose and sucked it out I then removed the front cover and the I tipped it back and removed two screws from the bottom of the pump bracket underneath the washer and moved the two clams on the pump hoses back to uncouple the hoses. I removed the pump and installed the new one and hocked everything back including the wires to the pump which is just a quick connect and pushed it back into place and it worked like new

Making noise, not draining properly.
  • Keith from Dayton, TX
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Pliers, Screw drivers
Put towel down to catch excess water, opened drain screen, used pliers to remove squeeze clamps on both hoses, removed front hold-down torx-head bolt and slid pump assembly out. Compared new part to old and found 2 differences 1:no hold-down location in front for bolt,2: the rubber padded feet are not the same. I was able to remove the tw o screws on the right side and use just the rubber pad for support while sliding the left side in the slot and is was plenty stable and works just fine. I guess the Whirlpool Duet model is a bit different on mounting but everything else fit quite well, the washer is working perfectly again.
