After i identified where it was leaking i cut the vave off under sink so i could remove part. All it had was 2 screws holding it to the frame and of course the copper line. I then went online to parts select and within 2 days my part arrived,i was planning on being down for at least a week but not with part select!! Thank you all for the great service!

Located where the dishwasher was leaking from and by referencing the parts catalog determined that it was the water valve. I ordered the part from Parts select and replaced the part when it arrived. Replacing the part was very easy and I now have a working dishwasher again.

bottom gasket fell out of door

  • Gene from LAKEVILLE, MN
  • A Bit Difficult
  • 30 - 60 mins
Had trouble installing the new gasket at first. Fell inside the door, and would not stay in the groove intended for it. After watching the video on your website, learned is best to angle the gasket and work in slowly to the groove from one side. Much easier then

Water leaked from bottom of door.

Removed front panel of door, to get to the screws that hold the door on the hinges. Removed door, pulled gasket with pliers from bottom of door, not easy to get out because of mineral deposits. Had to push quite hard to get new gasket in. Put every thing back together and no leaks. I live in Alaska and I tried to order the part through Sears and they wanted $18.95 for shipping for a $12.87 part. The part with PartSelect was $14.92 but only $6.95 for shipping. I ordered the part on a Tuesday and recevied it on that Friday. We in Alaska get very tired of companies thinking we live on another planet. Thank you PartSelect.

Dishwasher was leaking at the front, just below the door

I measured the length of the gasket, using the old one to measure the length. Cut it to that length and installed it. VERY SIMPLE TO DO! But it didn't stop my leak--turns out there was a small leak in the bottom of the tub that was easily fixed with some silicone. The dishwasher's like new now!

Used pliers to pull out the old gasket. New gasket snapped into place. Notice where notches in the gasket are when the old one is removed, so the new one can be properly oriented. It was not necessary to remove the door.

Leaking underneath dishwasher

My dishwasher started leaking at the beginning of the summer. We didn't know what to do, but didn't want to call an appliance repairman. Towards fall, a friend came over and pulled it out and found the heating element brass nut which was broken. We put it back in and washed dishes the old-fashioned way for another 3 months after that. I a sked at my local hardware store for the part, and thought about trying one of those big-box do-it-yourself stores but never got around to it. Finally after getting sick and tired of doing all the dishes in the house by hand, I found your site, and the part I needed and ordered two (just-in-case). A few days later, we got the part, I pulled the dishwasher out again, screwed on the new nut by hand and put it back into place. We're in business!
