GS2325GEKB Maytag Refrigerator - Instructions

Super easy - emptied door of all food, unscrewed bracket from top of door, lifted door off and set aside. Broken cam removed, new one screwed in, and lubed with some Vaseline. I checked previous installation instructions posted on your website. Since the facade is a peel and stick, I used a hair dryer to soften the old facade and was then able to just peel it off. I applied heat to one side for about 5 minutes. I then applied the new facade.

Problem led to 3 possible problem parts, defrost thermostat, defrost heater or defrost control board. Defrost heater ohmed out to 31 ohms, so seemed good. Defrost thermostat was open when warm but was open after running refrigerator to get freezer side cold enough for thermostat to close, it did not I thought. So I ordered thermostat. ... Read more Once part came in, I cut up a couple inches on orange and brown wires, stripped off enough to work with. I soldered new one in and heat shrunk the wires. I turned on and it seem to work and all night. Working fine right now.

Unplugged refrigerator.
Removed water drip tray.
Removed two Phillips screws.
used putty knife to
get behind outer plate and popped it off.
Disconnected electrical connections.
Removed the 4 nut driver screws.
removed ice maker door.
Removed seal around old Ice shoot flap and cleaned.
Removed i ... Read more nsulator pad from old ice maker flap and cleaned.
Installed seal and insulator pad on the new chute door.
clipped new chute door intact with seal and pad in place and snapped the top clips into place.

Reversed procedure to reinstall refrigerator parts.

Plugged in refrigerator and tested. Had no issues.

Remove two screws from top door hinge.
Remove door from unit
Remove old broken plastic cam 1 screw
Replace new door cam tighten 1 screw
Reinstall door and top hinge screws.

Emptied the door.
Removed the door, top bolts first.
Lifted out the door.
Installed new cam at the bottom.
Set the door back in place.
Bolted the top hinge back on.
Smooth!

The part came quickly and was the right one. You can't imagine how many outfits lose it here. Well done and thanks.

Removed the door by taking 3 screws out of the top and lifting straight up, then replaced with the new parts and very easily replaced the door, worked ike a charm, if i didn't know any better it was like factory new

The video on the part select website with the Canadian gentleman was absolutely the best! My wife and I watched it and was able to accomplish the replacement with no surprises or issues. It has been a couple weeks since the repair and the refrigerator is working like it did when we first purchased it.

Killed the power to the fridge. Then, used a small, thin screwdriver to depress the clip on the bottom of the switch and wriggled the old switch out. The two wires easily came off the contacts with pliers. Connected the wires to the new switch and snapped it into the hole--clip facing down and contacts facing up. Turned the power back ... Removed top hinge cover and socketed out hinge nuts. Lifted door off bottom hinge. Socketed out broken bottom cam and replaced with new. Reset door with someone lifting and the other guiding. Reattached top hinge and cover. Voila.
